Every 1 Voice Matters, in conjunction with the North Charleston Police Department, proudly presents the "What I Wish My Parents Knew" Faith & Blue Youth Mental Health Summit, taking place THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17TH!

A special THANK YOU to Live 5 News for having us on yesterday to share information about this important event and why these conversations are needed in our homes, schools, and communities.

Two Powerful Panels — Youth & Adults!

Our panel discussions will be led by Raphael James of Live 5 News and McKendrick Dunn of Lowcountry Youth Services

These panels will bring together individuals with lived experiences, licensed mental health professionals, and law enforcement to have real, honest, and meaningful conversations about the challenges our youth and families face every day.

We will address mental health, bullying, su***de awareness and prevention, substance abuse, peer pressure, and the importance of recognizing warning signs before a situation becomes a crisis.

Our youth are speaking, but are we truly listening?

Sometimes the struggles our children face are the ones we cannot see. That's why creating safe spaces for them to share their feelings, ask questions, and know they are not alone is so important.

Bullying can have a lasting impact on a child's mental health, self-esteem, confidence, and ability to learn.

A child who is constantly bullied may struggle to concentrate in class, experience anxiety, lose confidence, withdraw from others, or even become afraid to attend school. Every child deserves to feel SAFE, VALUED, HEARD, and ACCEPTED!

As parents, educators, and community leaders, we must recognize the signs, listen to our children, and take action.

Every 1 Voice Matters would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to FAVOR Lowcountry, led by Executive Director Aislinne Wilson for partnering with us for our upcoming "What I Wish My Parents Knew" Youth Mental Health Summit!

PREVENTION MATTERS. INTERVENTION MATTERS. RECOVERY MATTERS.

Substance abuse and mental health challenges are affecting our youth, families, and communities every day. That's why it's important that we not only have conversations about these issues but also connect families with the information, education, and resources they need.

FAVOR Lowcountry is a recovery-focused organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use through peer support, recovery resources, advocacy, and community connections.

Under Aislenne's leadership, FAVOR Lowcountry continues to help individuals and families understand that recovery is possible, support is available, and no one should have to navigate these challenges alone.

During our summit, FAVOR Lowcountry will help provide valuable information and resources regarding drug prevention, early intervention, substance use, and recovery support.

At Every 1 Voice Matters, we believe we cannot wait until addiction, substance abuse, or mental health challenges show up at our doorstep before we decide to become educated and involved.

Early prevention starts with awareness, education, conversations, and community partnerships.

This Christmas, we’re working to provide 800 NEW toys, 800 NEW coats, and 200 NEW bikes to children and families in underserved communities—and we need our community to help make it happen!

October is Bullying Prevention Month!

Bullying is more than “kids being kids.” Its effects can follow a student into the classroom, home, and community—impacting their confidence, self-esteem, mental health, attendance, academic performance, and sense of belonging.

As schools continue to address bullying, cyberbullying, exclusion, teasing, and peer pressure, we must do more than tell children “Don’t bully.” We have to teach them what kindness, empathy, accountability, inclusion, and speaking up actually look like.

The Lil Herbie Series® Anti-Bullying Assembly brings these lessons to life through storytelling, student engagement, and a character children can relate to and see themselves in.
