This is Zak and his wife, Brooke from Chesapeake, VA. Zak was diagnosed with many internal melanoma tumors back in April of 2022. He has been in an ongoing battle since. He's been accepted into a therapy trial at Duke that will begin next month. Join us in sending HUGE vibes and prayers up for a FULL, successful recovery and cure for Zak and his family.

His sister-in-law reached out last summer hoping to get them to the OBX is for Lovers, EMO festival. We were beyond stoked that Zak was not only able to attend, but also rock out to some of his favorite bands, giving him and Brooke a much-needed distraction.

We look forward to seeing Zak and Brooke at many more shows in the future.

Gwendalyn is a super special, spunky wahini who lives here on the Outer Banks. She grew up chasing waves and making friends with everyone she meets. Gwen was diagnosed with cervical and ovarian cancer at 17 years young in March of 2022. Since then, she has been a brutal battle for her life and has overcome challenge after challenge.

She has fought with grit and grace and stolen the hearts of our entire community. Her family, friends and teammates have wrapped her in love and support every step of the way.

Gwen was able to attend her very first concert and then several shows after that throughout her battle with cancer. Vusic Heals was humbled to be able to bring her a brief respite from the reality she faces every day. To watch her sit and soak in her favorite band, Dirty Heads, from back stage was a sight that brought tears to our eyes. To see her show up with an entourage of friends and family who wanted to celebrate life and dance alongside her, was a beautiful thing.

Keep Gwen and her family in your daily thoughts and prayers, specifically that she is granted the miracle she needs. We love you Gwen and Botson family!

Meet Haley. Haley was our first recipient of a Vusic Heals experience last summer. Haley was tragically hit by a car in November 2022 and left paralyzed. Haley frequently came to shows before her accident and it has been our greatest joy to welcome her back to the scene after an incredibly challenging year of recovery. She is living proof that miracles are real. Her smile comes straight from her heart and lights up the place. We’ve been blessed to be able to provide a few epic experiences for Haley and her family who’ve stood by her side every step of the way. They are a great support to the OBX live music scene and her little brother, Daniel is always by her side. Her mom often mentions how instrumental live music has been for Haley and her recovery process. We look forward to watching Haley rock out many more times in the future. Huge thanks goes to John, Kevin and Snell of for taking the time to pay Haley a very special visit last weekend.
