We’re honored to be presenting at the Muslim Mental Health Conference this Friday in Michigan. Our session, Alternative Wellness Interventions: Collectivist Approaches Measured for Refugee Resilience Outcomes, highlights Cornerstone’s partnership with the IRC and our integrative model of care supporting refugee and immigrant communities. Through culturally, spiritually, and linguistically grounded, trauma-informed approaches, we’ll be sharing how community-based interventions can strengthen resilience, expand access to care, and build more connected systems of support. Currently attending the NJ Food Insecurity Summit on behalf of Cornerstone and saddened to see in the month of Ramadan that there are more images on the screens of Muslims receiving meals than Muslim organizations represented in the audience tackling food insecurity. I know many of our masajid and organizations are on the front lines of feeding our communities but these are the spaces we need to show up in to make sure our voices are heard and our work continues.
