Testing day for the 2025-26 ski patrol candidates. This is the classroom portion of the National Ski Patrol requirements. These guys and gals have spent the last couple of months diligently learning and practicing emergency care skills in preparation for becoming a ski patroller. Today, they got to show what they know for the evaluators. They started the day with skills tests. Then after lunch, they tackled the on-line questions. With just a few loose ends to wrap up, we gathered the survivors to take the class picture, and celebrated the day at SOB's in Kimball. Congratulations to the candidate class of 2025-26!

The 2025-26 Powder Ridge Ski Patrol Refresher is in the books! It was a beautiful October day filled with opportunities to practice our emergency care skills, and catch up with our friends and fellow patrollers. The patrol provided breakfast and lunch, and after lunch we were visited by the Life Link III helicopter, based out of Willmar, MN. We spent time with them asking questions and taking pictures. Beautiful day, great refresher, fantastic patrol!

The 20th annual Paddling Film Festival was the latest event organized our Powder Ridge Ski Patrol activity advisor, Dan, who was also the emcee of the presentation. This year's Spring skiing destination was Whitefish Montana. Dan, our activities advisor, organized a week-long adventure, starting with taking the Amtrak Train from St. Cloud to Whitefish. We rented a lodge right on a ski trail, so we could start skiing right from our back door. We divided into groups to plan and cook our meals, and when we weren't skiing, we spent time hanging out at our lodge cooking, talking, playing games, and taking advantage of the hot tub. Great skiing, and lots of camaraderie on and off the slopes! We can hardly wait for next year!

It was a chilly night for our Annual Chili Cook-Off and Tubing Night. Great fun, and great chili! This year's winners were:

A new tradition started this year... a coat rack made from skis, which will be signed by the 1st place winner and passed on each year.

Last night, Kirk's band, Cowboys in Sneakers, performed in Chester's. Great music, great band! BTW.. Kirk's a Powder Ridge ski patroller, he sings, plays guitar, plays harmonica, and he also serves on our board as the treasurer! Awesome job, Kirk!
