It’s going to be a busy weekend on the water!

If you’re heading out this Memorial Day weekend, please prioritize your safety. The water in many places is still cold and an unexpected fall in could have tragic consequences.

A few things to keep in mind:

* Wear a life jacket
* Wear your engine cut-off lanyard
* Leave the alcohol on shore
* Pay attention and reduce distractions when operating a boat

We’ll see you out there!

Pause this Memorial Day weekend to remember those who gave their lives while serving.

With this cold snap kicking us into winter, parts of Minnesota have seen snowfall ranging from ‘some’ to ‘significant.’ With ice already forming on some bodies of water, the combination can be dangerous.

Snow on top of new ice can create the illusion of solid ice where there isn’t nearly enough to support weight. It only takes a moment for a child or pet to wander out onto thin ice, and the results can be tragic.

Remember:
🧊 Talk with your kids about the dangers of early ice.
🐕 Keep pets leashed near any frozen or partially frozen water; kids often follow them onto unsafe ice.
🚫 Stay off all ice until there’s at least 4 inches of new, clear ice.

Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday safely and keep in mind that thin ice may be hard to see, but the danger is very real.
