The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® recently hosted an outstanding VA Boot Camp that attracted a large group of REALTORS® committed to serving the unique needs of our military members, veterans, and their families. The class provided valuable education on VA home loan benefits, eligibility requirements, financing options, and common challenges veterans may face during the home-buying process. Participants gained practical knowledge and resources that will help them better guide veteran clients toward successful homeownership. The strong attendance reflected the dedication of local REALTORS® to continuing their education and ensuring they are equipped to provide the highest level of service to those who have sacrificed so much for our country. Events like this reinforce the Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS®' commitment to supporting our military community and promoting professional excellence among its members.

This week, FHAAR was proud to represent our members on Capitol Hill and at the National Association of REALTORS® Legislative Meetings.

We met with Zach Ramsey, Legislative Assistant to U.S. Congressman August Pfluger, to discuss issues that directly impact property owners, REALTORS®, and our communities. Topics included capital gains taxes, water infrastructure and availability, the growing impact of data centers, and other key issues affecting Texas real estate.

Afterwards, we had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the U.S. Capitol, where we learned more about the history, leadership, and decisions that helped shape our nation and continue to influence our communities today. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of civic engagement and advocacy.

The Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS® (NVAR) invited us to their Showcase, where we along with other association leaders from across the country explored innovative programs, technology, member engagement strategies, and operational ideas that can be adapted to better serve our members back home.

We also participated in the NAR Region 10 Caucus, where updates were provided on national REALTOR® advocacy efforts, RPAC, REALTOR® Relief Foundation initiatives, REALTOR.com updates, and important policy recommendations being considered at the national level.

Advocacy is one of the most valuable benefits of your REALTOR® membership, and FHAAR is committed to ensuring that the voices of our members and property owners in Central Texas are heard at every level of government.
