Mission of the Dirt Road

Mission of the Dirt Road Community Center & Church
Mission Statement: Making Disciples through Community Development Childcare is provided as well.

We offer a free Coffee Cafe, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, connect to our WiFi, learn about resources, have a chat with a neighbor or pastor, study, work, or enjoy some peace and quiet. We host multiple recovery meetings during the week, and a support group for people who experience anxiety and depression. On Tuesday Nights in January through October, we host free community dinners and clas

ses that are not religious in nature. Classes are focused on financial, relational, physical or mental health. Sunday at 11am, we gather for church- a meal and conversation related to following Jesus by loving God and loving people. We are intentionally located in High Ridge, and we lead the High Ridge Initiative. We love getting to know our neighbors and connecting them to resources that may be helpful. https://instagram.com/missionofthedirtroad?igshid=bmm1vjkr9wml

!!! IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

Mission of the Dirt Road WILL still have Family Day tomorrow, which means we have groceries for families (while supplies last), and we'll have educational activities for children and teens! You can stop in 10am-2pm for food and activities. However, the YMCA will not be available to facilitate their food distribution this week. Please share with families who may be affected so that we limit any inconvenience.

If you are registered with the YMCA for the Rural Non-Congregate Feeding Program, you should have received this message from them: We want to inform you that due to the rapid growth in participation at our weekly food distribution program, we have unfortunately exhausted our current meal inventory and must cancel the food distribution scheduled for tomorrow, June 18, at Mission of the Dirt Road Community Center & Church. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and understand the impact this may have on your family. The tremendous response to this program has exceeded our initial projections, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve so many children in our community. The good news is that we have already worked with our meal distributor to secure a larger meal allocation moving forward. We have implemented a solution to accommodate the increased demand, and we do not anticipate this being an issue going forward. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as we continue to expand this program to meet the needs of our community. We look forward to serving your family again next week.

As a part of our conversation series around Worship, tomorrow we'll be having our first official "backyard church." This will be a more contemplative gathering, where we will enjoy some time in our beautiful backyard and garden. We'll start with our meal at 11am and then move outside for "backyard church." Over the past two weeks, YMCA has facilitated the rural non-congregant feeding program at Mission of the Dirt Road, and they have served over 5,000 meals to kids in our community! This past week, Mission of the Dirt Road was able to provide 50 families (with 152 children) with fresh foods (tomatoes, strawberries, salad kit, frozen vegetable blend, tortillas, salsa, ground turkey, taco seasoning, a can of black beans, a can of corn, and queso) for the whole family to enjoy.

We also had 27 kids participate in educational activities while they were picking up food with their parents! Thanks to support from Baptist Health and the YMCA, this programming and food distribution will happen every Thursday in June & July!!
