Did you know the historic Pangborn House on Lawrence Boulevard was originally built as apartments by Claude Pangborn?
The Pangborn family had railroading in its blood! Claude, his father, and his son Donald all worked as railroad engineers. Claude's sister Pettis married another locomotive engineer, Edward J. Schrubb, who was appointed postmaster of Brooklyn in December 1919 — the little railroad settlement that preceded Keystone Heights!
Donald Pangborn later became a partner and manager of the Keystone Heights Lumber Company alongside Ed Caughey and served as a Clay County commissioner.
From the railroads that brought people to Florida to the businesses that helped build Keystone Heights, the Pangborn family played a part in our community's early story.

Today, the historic Pangborn House is home to Pangborn Ice Cream, and we're excited to share that the Woman’s Club of Keystone Heights has been selected as the 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦!
Throughout November, a portion of Pangborn Ice Cream's proceeds will be donated to our club to help support the work we do in our community. Stop by, enjoy a sweet treat, and support a local business that's giving back!
