Our firefighters are teaming up with St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church to make Christmas special for local children in need. We're collecting NEW, UNWRAPPED toys for kids ages 3 months to 13 years, plus gift cards for older children.

The Key Largo Fire Department, in partnership with St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church and our community partners, is proud to announce our annual Christmas Toy Drive! We're collecting new, unwrapped toys for local children in need, ages 3 months to 13 years. Gift cards are also welcome for older children.

All donations will be distributed to children in our community through St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church (105500 Overseas Hwy, 305-451-1316).

The Key Largo Firefighters Benevolent Association wants to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Karol Marsden with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Keys Real Estate for her incredible generosity this Thanksgiving!

Karol personally visited Station 24 and Station 25 to deliver delicious pies and gift cards to our firefighters as a token of appreciation for their service to our community. These thoughtful gestures mean the world to our crews, especially during the holidays when they're away from their families to protect yours.

This past weekend we "fell back" as Daylight Saving Time ends - and that means it's time to change your smoke detector batteries!

The Key Largo Firefighters Benevolent reminds all residents: when you change your clocks, change your batteries. This simple step takes just a few minutes but could save your life and the lives of your loved ones.

✅ Replace batteries in all smoke detectors

✅ Test each alarm after changing batteries

✅ Replace any detectors older than 10 years

Working smoke detectors reduce the risk of dying in a fire by 50%. Don't wait until it's too late.
