The Ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated – Nu Tau Zeta Chapter, with the support of our Zeta Amicae, were honored to participate in the Piedmont Triad Elder Abuse Awareness Walk, Stroll & Roll!

The weather was perfect as we joined community partners in raising awareness about elder abuse and advocating for the safety and well-being of our senior population. Participants enjoyed FREE snow cones from our chapter, with Blue Raspberry emerging as the clear crowd favorite! 💙

A special thank you to our Crystal Dove, Dr. Althea Taylor-Jones, for encouraging everyone to continue protecting, supporting, and advocating for our elders.

Elder Care remains one of Nu Tau Zeta’s signature initiatives, and we are proud to be ranked #3 in the Nation for our work in this important area of service.

Dearest Reader,

It is a curious thing how often we exhaust ourselves tending fires that were never ours to extinguish.

We rush toward every conflict, every complaint, every crisis—believing our presence is required to restore order. We carry burdens we did not create, solve problems we were never assigned, and pour from our cups until little remains for ourselves.

Yet wisdom teaches a gentler lesson:

Not every fire is your fire.

Some flames belong to lessons others must learn.
Some storms belong to journeys others must walk.
Some challenges are meant to build another person's strength.
And some burdens were never yours to carry in the first place.

Too often, we mistake exhaustion for compassion and overextension for service. But caring does not require carrying. Supporting does not require sacrificing. Loving does not require losing yourself.

May we learn the difference between being called to help and feeling obligated to rescue.

Remember, dear reader:
Every fire does not require your presence.
Every problem does not require your sacrifice.
Every burden does not require your strength.

Protect your peace. Guard your energy. And trust that choosing not to enter every battle is not weakness—it is wisdom. It is discernment. It is self-preservation.
