Honorary Life Membership is the highest honor conferred by ISME, recognizing exceptional service, leadership, and lasting contributions to music education worldwide.
Professor Patricia Shehan Campbell has helped transform how educators understand and teach the worldās musical cultures. A Professor Emerita at the University of Washington, she is internationally recognized for her work in music education, ethnomusicology, World Music Pedagogy, childrenās musical cultures, and community-based musical learning.
Professor David Forrest of RMIT University has made an enduring contribution to music education through scholarship, mentorship, publishing, and sustained service to professional communities. His extensive work with ISME has included serving as Scientific Chair and helping document and share the scholarship presented through ISMEās World Conferences.
Together, Patricia and David represent the scholarship, generosity, international collaboration, and commitment to service that lie at the heart of ISME.
