Here is a piece of LK&R history! This 4'x8' HO layout was originally donated to the club back in February 1999. Based on a popular Atlas plan, it was just plywood and track when the club originally got it. The snap track was replaced with flex track and the turntable removed to create a yard lead, and it was rewired to run up to three DC trains at once (two main tracks and yard). It was first operational in August 1999, and was first displayed at a swap meet in Vancouver in February 2000. Originally intended for small one-day events, this small layout would end up bridging the gap between the sale of our old legacy layout in February 2001 and the debut of the new traveling layout in September 2003. With the new traveling layout and a lack of one-day events, this 4x8 layout was sold in October 2005, but has now found its way back to us. It is looking a little worse for wear, but has good bones. We haven't decided what to do with it yet, but it may be looking for a good home.
