Who Are We?
➢ For over 25 years we were the Konocti Lioness Club, and our motto was For Kids’ Sake. Due to a resolution from Lions International we are no longer able to continue using our Club name. In August 2020, we became known as Konocti Women’s Service Club (KWSC) and our motto continues to be For Kids’ Sake. What Are We?
➢ We are a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. Our spirit and love for
children is what inspires us to donate every dollar we raise to the children in need in Lake County, California.
➢ Our Club meets once a month at the Riviera Hills Restaurant in the Kelseyville Riviera, where we get to know each other, discuss upcoming fundraising events, donations, and share stories about our families. Our Fundraising
➢ Every year we have one major fundraising event and several smaller events which affords us the pleasure of donating back to the children of our community and supporting other local non-profit organizations.
➢ In 2024, our major fundraiser was a Luau held at Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa in Kelseyville. This event was a huge success including a scrumptious dinner with lots of entertainment, dancing, raffle baskets, a Silent and Live Auction. A great time was had by all, and we raised approximately $16,000. Our 2025 major fundraiser will be a “Night At The Oscars” theme. It will be held in September at Konocti Vista Casino Ballroom.
➢ The Pear Festival in Kelseyville happens each year at the end of September and our Pear Ice Cream booth has been a fixture at the Pear Festival for over 20 years. The 2024 Pear Festival was another great success, we even had four members of the Interact Club from Kelseyville High School scooping happily for hours. Voted Best Pear Ice Cream at the Pear Festival by all who enjoyed our cones!
➢ We are known in the County for our beautiful raffle baskets that we sell raffle tickets for once or twice a year as well as at our other fundraising events. These baskets are chock-full of donations from our Club members and businesses in the community. 100% of the profits from these events go directly to the children based non-profit organizations in Lake County. Not only do our members work for free, but we also have fun in the rewarding work we do.
➢ Each year we donate scholarships to several graduating seniors from our local high schools. This year in 2025, $9,000.00 in scholarships will be given. The receiving students often attend our monthly meetings to share their goals for the future with our Club.
➢ Yearly we donate to local Elementary, Middle and High Schools throughout the County. In 2024-2025, we will be donating over $12,000 in various school supplies, backpacks, hygiene products, clothes and school equipment. Often at the beginning of the year and during the holidays we make baskets for the Teacher Staff Room filled with goodies to show our appreciation for the teachers and recognize how hard they work.
➢ Yearly we donate to Lake Resource Center in Kelseyville. Our generous Club members purchase Christmas presents and/or gift cards for the children living at the Center. We also donate toiletries and other necessities for the moms.
➢ Every year, we partner with the Lake County Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 8-8, and in 2025 we have donated $2000 for the purchase of children’s lifejackets. We work alongside the Flotilla members to properly fit and give away these lifejackets to the children of Lake County – at no cost to the child’s family. Get Involved
