The Jefferson County Farm Bureau will be moving its January 4, 2024 meeting (7PM) to the WVU Research Center at 67 Apple Harvest Lane, Kearneysville, WV. This is a joint Jefferson and Berkeley County meeting featuring the WV DNR. The purpose is to discuss crop damage caused by excess deer population.

The Jefferson County Fair Association’s, Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 edition of the Jefferson County Fair, which was scheduled for August 16-22. The Jefferson County Fair firmly believes, that as a responsible community partner, we should make decisions that preserve the health and safety of our community. Over the past few weeks, we have worked with and solicited the opinions of many different volunteers, organizations, and businesses that contribute to make the Jefferson County Fair happen each year. The totality of those discussions led us to determine we cannot safely nor responsibly operate the Jefferson County Fair in a way that guarantees the safety of the public, our staff, and our participants at a level that the Board of Directors is comfortable with. This is a decision that the Board did not make lightly but believes will best preserve the future of the Jefferson County Fair. We realize this is yet another disappointment to many of you, during a time when events of all types are deciding not to operate for the 2020 season. And although we are deeply disappointed with having to make this decision, we will now turn our focus toward putting together a spectacular 2021 comeback edition of the Jefferson County Fair. We realize many of our participants and volunteers may have questions and we will be working toward finding solutions and answers. Stay tuned for additional updates. We will be back!
