🚤 UPCOMING TRAINING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! US Safe Powerboat Handling Certification + NYS Boating License

WHEN: June 12 - 13, 2026
WHERE: YMCA Camp Chingachgook

As of January 1, 2025, New York State requires all operators, regardless of age, to have a valid safety certificate. This course includes the curriculum and meets the requirements of the New York Safe Boating Course. Participants will take the NYS boating license exam at the end of the course.

Interested in learning more about Y-Knot Adaptive Sailing? Join us for a free volunteer training day on June 7th.

No sailing experience is necessary! Come join us for a variety of training stations to learn how you can support our adaptive and handicap-accessible sailing program by volunteering to help out dockside or out on the water this summer. Light refreshments will be served at 12 PM.

Please bring a water bottle and bring layers - this event will happen rain or shine!

Last weekend, we hosted one of our Staff Hike Trainings, which are mandatory for all staff members leading our wilderness excursions each summer. The team is instructed on campsite rules, regulations, both hard and soft skills, and everything else needed to lead our classic Chingachgook 3-day hikes, which are held during our two-week overnight camp sessions! 🥾🌿
