Cookson Hills provides home, school, and therapy for kids who are at-risk. For many kids, Cookson Hills is their childhood home.

Since 1957, Cookson Hills has provided home, school, and therapy for kids who are at-risk. We are a children’s home in Northeast Oklahoma, serving kids ages 5-17 who want to write a better story for their lives and have experienced challenges with family life, homelessness, poor peer relationships, abuse, or neglect. Compelled by the love of Christ, our team works together to fulfill our vision –

to raise up healthy individuals who are empowered to positively impact future generations. For others it’s a temporary home for about two years. All kids come here to live within a family. They enroll in school, they learn, they play sports, they make friends, they help set the table, they laugh, they talk, they ride horses, they heal, and (we hope) they leave better than they came.

🎵 “Working at the car wash” 🚗🫧

Our varsity band kids have their eyes locked on a major goal: competing at a music festival in Saint Louis in April 2027! 🎺🥁

And they are putting in the work to get there! Our students were out washing cars, working hard to earn their way and clear those financial benchmarks. Thanks to their grit and your support, they have already raised 1/3 of their total funding goal!
This isn't just about a trip - it’s about developing their God-given talents, building discipline and representing our campus with excellence on a bigger stage!🏆 We can't wait to cheer them on!

Ministry isn't a moment; it's a lifelong legacy. One of our incredible board members, Becky, hosted a Mother's Luncheon for our staff inside our first Home Renewal Project house. This is the exact home she personally helped make a reality. 🛠️✨

Her journey is a powerful picture of full-circle kingdom impact:
🔹 Arrived as a 12-year-old student.
🔹 Served as a housemom for 10 years.
🔹 Leads as a board member today.

She came back this week to serve the women currently on the frontlines. Houseparenting can be heavy, exhausting work. But God is using these faithful families to break generational cycles and give kids their first true picture of a safe home and a loving Father. 🔥🙌

Our students are leaders who step up⚡️

Discipleship goes far beyond a classroom - it builds character and strong foundations through action. Our students are actively engaging with the local community, partnering with neighborhood centers and organizations through serving others. 🤝

Whether helping deep-clean facilities or simply sitting down to listen well to a neighbor, they are discovering that true impact means meeting a need without expecting a thing in return. 🙌

For three days the Central City Christian Church of Joplin, Missouri team poured into this campus, cleaning offices and houses, painting locker rooms and clearing landscaping. That's the church being the church, and we're so GRATEFUL!

Every clean space and fresh coat of paint helps make Cookson Hills a place where our kids can grow and thrive. Behind every project is a home that feels a little safer, brighter and more cared for.

Imagine losing your fortune... to a CAT🐱💰

Our drama students cracked the case in The Purrfect Crime, a comedy full of mystery, a scheming feline and enough twists to keep the laughs roaring.

THE BEST PART? Long before opening night, our students were memorizing lines, nailing cues, building real public speaking skills, and discovering gifts they didn't know they had. 🎬 Growth like THIS lasts long after the final bow, and we couldn't be prouder! 🎭
