We’re excited to announce that Kate Kennedy will serve as moderator for the State of the Woman Listening Tour – Kane session on May 13 in Kane — joined by special guest, Pennsylvania’s First Lady Lori Shapiro!
Kate is Executive Director of the Kane Area Development Center, where she leads economic and community development initiatives that support local growth and strengthen the region. Since stepping into the role in 2019, she has overseen multiple community organizations and worked to advance collaborative, place-based solutions.
With a background in communications and nonprofit leadership, Kate previously held key roles at Light of Life Rescue Mission, helping to expand development efforts and elevate community awareness. She remains deeply engaged in civic life, serving on several regional boards and contributing to initiatives that support education, youth, and community connection.
Kate’s leadership and dedication to community impact — alongside First Lady Lori Shapiro’s commitment to uplifting Pennsylvanians — will help guide a meaningful and engaging conversation about the experiences and priorities of women in the region.
