Many people ask, "What is Queen Tiadaghton?"
To me, Queen Tiadaghton is so much more than a crown, a sash, or a title. It is a tradition that celebrates community pride, volunteerism, leadership, and the young women who represent the very best of Jersey Shore.
Being named the 2012 Queen Tiadaghton was one of the greatest honors of my life. It gave me the opportunity to serve the community that raised me, shaped me, and continues to hold a special place in my heart. The experiences, friendships, and lessons I gained through the program have stayed with me long after my year as Queen ended.
For the past six years, I have had the privilege of leading the Queen Tiadaghton program as a volunteer. I continue to dedicate my time because I believe in what this program stands for. I believe in investing in our youth, preserving our traditions, and giving back to the community I was born and raised in and love so dearly.
Every year, I am inspired by the young women who step forward to represent our town. Watching them grow in confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover the importance of community service reminds me why this program matters.
As we celebrate Jersey Shore's 200th Anniversary, I am especially grateful for the generations of Queens, volunteers, families, and community members who have helped keep this tradition alive. Queen Tiadaghton is not just about one person it is about a community coming together to honor its past, celebrate its present, and invest in its future.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this program throughout the years. It is truly a labor of love, and I am proud to continue serving a community that has given so much to me.
