When falls on , there's only one proper way to celebrate! It doesn't matter if you graduated over 50 years ago or just joined the University of North Florida family this year...

𝗣𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲!

As usual, North Florida Ospreys uses 904 Day as a way to raise funds for the department's continued pursuit of providing a championship-caliber experience for their student-athletes. This year, they're looking to implement state-of-the-art force plate technology to provide coaches, athletic trainers and performance staff with advanced data to enhance the performance, recovery and injury prevention.

Please join us in congratulating our teammate Ben Takacs on his recent promotion to Data Management Coordinator!

“At the UNF Foundation, I love my team and the work that we do. I feel that this role allows me to be analytical in the work and creative in the solutions”. Takacs said.

Takacs, a Jacksonville native, earned his degree in astronomy and astrophysics from the Florida Institute of Technology. He went on to Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, where he graduated with a master's degree in physics. Takacs’ appreciation for an academic environment made the data-focused role at the University of North Florida a natural fit.

Takacs continues to combine his technical and creative interests by occasionally supporting events at the UNF Fine Arts Center, drawing on his background in technical theater. Outside of work, he enjoys crafting beverages, reading, running, and spending time with his dog.

Experiential Learning is such a priority for the University of North Florida that every student is expected to complete at least one opportunity by the time they graduate. These internships provide real-world experience and set our students apart from other candidates who only went to class, demonstrating that they can apply their knowledge to practical settings.

As we celebrate 904 Week, we visited some Ospreys at a few thriving local companies, Miller Electric Company, RF-SMART, Stellar and VyStar Credit Union, to learn about how their UNF education and experience set them up for success.

What a month! We started by officially inducting over 1,000 new alumni and ended by helping 4,000 more Ospreys move into The Nest to begin their University of North Florida journey.

We also got to connect with our colleagues across campus, host our first event of the semester, see the new members of the Alumni Association Board in action AND take in a Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp ballgame!

We can’t wait to see what fun September holds in store…

Friday Night Lights mean Saturday Morning Celebrations! With the preseason now over, the fun officially begins, but we hope you all enjoyed one last night game at EverBank Stadium as the next one will be Week 14 for our Roar and Soar takeover during Monday Night Football.
