2026 Runway for a Cure Youth Ambassador Lexi Reed

I wanted to become an ambassador for breast cancer awareness because I believe that even the smallest voice can make a big difference.
Breast cancer affects so many women and families, and I want to help spread awareness, encourage hope, and remind those fighting that they are never alone.
Being an ambassador gives me the opportunity to use my voice to inspire others, spread kindness, and make a positive impact. I may be young, but I believe you're never too young to make a difference. My goal is to help bring hope, strength, and a little sparkle to those who need it most. Together, we can spread awareness, share hope, and be the spark that makes a difference! 🎀 ✨

💟📣2026 Runway for a Cure Honoree: Amanda Saxton Little

"Amanda Little’s cancer journey began seven years ago, at the age of 48. After years of routine mammograms, an ultrasound revealed a benign cyst. A biopsy later confirmed Stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer.
She courageously underwent chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, 30 radiation treatments, and six additional months of chemotherapy in pill form. Throughout it all, her husband and sons stood by her side.
After completing treatment, Amanda continued to fight when the cancer later spread to her brain, forming an egg-sized tumor, as well as to her lymph nodes and spine. She has since undergone brain surgery and multiple rounds of radiation, including two Gamma Knife radiation treatments to her brain, during which metal rods are placed in her head while she is awake.
Through every setback, Amanda has continued treatment with remarkable strength and determination. Every three months, she travels to Houston to MD Anderson for brain and spine scans while continuing to meet with her wonderful team at Kirkland Cancer Center every three weeks for chemotherapy. She is accompanied to every chemotherapy appointment by her chemo buddy—her father.
Despite everything she has faced, Amanda remains hopeful and grateful. She is hopeful for a cure and grateful for the closeness her journey has brought her to God, her family, and the new friends she has made along the way. She believes God will heal her one day—if not on Earth, then in Heaven for sure."

2026 Runway for a Cure Youth Ambassador: Katie Bateman 📣💕

“Katie is a 16-year-old sophomore at South Gibson County High School. She is involved in many school clubs and activities including: Best Buddies, Theatre, Dance, Spanish Club, Jackson Symphony Ambassadors, and SGCHS Student Ambassadors. Katie is the founder of BRCA: Breaking Risk Creating Awareness, which aims to educate and support men and women with a history of the BRCA genetic mutation. If your family has a history of the Genetic mutation, you have a higher risk of developing breast, ovarian, pancreatic, or prostate cancer. The reason why she started this is because of her grandmother. In 2021 her grandmother, Sue, was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, and later with the BRCA1 gene mutation. After discovering this her mother was diagnosed with both the BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations. After seeing the effect this had on her family Katie made it her mission to help educate and support men and women with a history of this mutation because she believes that knowledge is power! Katie is so excited for this opportunity to continue outreach for those going through testing, treatments, or recovery.”

💕📣 Introducing a 2026 Runway for a Cure Honoree: Jennifer Rowan

“At just 36 years old, Jennifer, who was not yet eligible for a routine mammogram, found a lump in her left breast. On July 1, 2014, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 invasive ductal carcinoma, estrogen and progesterone positive, HER2-. Fighting this disease wasn’t an option for her, it was an obligation. Jennifer is a daughter, sister, and most importantly a mother of two children, Dylan and Alyvia. At that time, Dylan was getting ready to start his senior year of high school, and Alyvia was about to turn three years old. Jennifer knew that keeping their lives as normal as possible was essential.
Her faith strengthened as she took each step of her journey to fight. Treatment included a mastectomy, 11 rounds of chemotherapy, and 30 rounds of radiation. Through it all, she worked to maintain her family’s routines and provide the stability her children depended on. With her family by her side every step of the way, she faced each challenge with strength, faith, and determination.
Her journey has taught her never to take life for granted and to appreciate the little moments, celebrate the big milestones, and most of all, cherish her family. She is incredibly grateful to be here to watch her children grow and experience each milestone with them.

Today, she shares her story in hopes of encouraging others who are facing their own cancer journey and reminding them that even in the hardest moments, there is hope, strength, and so much life worth fighting for.”

2026 Runway for a Cure Youth Ambassador: Caroline Fisher. 📣💟

"🎀 THIS IS OUR WHY 🎀

Behind every pink ribbon is a real person, a real family, and a real story.
As Caroline prepares to participate in Runway for a Cure and raise funds supporting breast cancer research and awareness, we want to introduce you to two incredible women who remind us exactly why this mission matters.

💕 Tayana Alston
At only 24 years old and a mother of two incredible babies, Tayana has recently been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma.
She has a fight ahead of her, but she isn’t facing it alone. She has an incredible support system standing behind her, ready to walk beside her every step of the way.
Tayana’s story is an important reminder that breast cancer can affect young women, too.

💕 Michelle Flores
Michelle was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma and invasive lobular carcinoma in June 2023.
Her journey has included a double mastectomy, six months of chemotherapy, six weeks of radiation, and breast reconstruction surgery in January 2025. Her treatment has taken place at MD Anderson in Houston, and she continues to make monthly trips for maintenance care.
Cancer has forever changed Michelle’s life, and she hopes her experience encourages others to take their health seriously.
Her message is simple but incredibly important: women and men—keep up with your wellness visits and recommended screenings.
🎀 Tayana and Michelle are our WHY.
They are why Caroline is walking the runway.
They are why she is raising money.
They are why we wear pink.
They are why we talk about breast cancer.
And they are why awareness, research, wellness visits, and appropriate screenings matter.

Caroline has set a goal of raising $1,500 through Runway for a Cure in support of the fight against breast cancer.
This isn't just about reaching a fundraising goal. It's about honoring people like Tayana and Michelle, supporting those currently fighting, celebrating survivors, remembering those we've lost, and helping create a future where fewer families have to hear the words, “You have cancer.”
