Laura Kate Prater is a distinguished senior at the University School of Jackson (USJ), recognized equally for her outstanding academic achievements, leadership, and athletic excellence. As exceptionally driven student, Laura Kate boasts a remarkable 4.74 GPA and achieved a 30 on the ACT. Her dedication to scholarship is reflected in her extensive involvement in numerous prestigious academic organizations, including National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, National Art Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Spanish Club.
On the field, Laura Kate is a powerhouse athlete and a leader from behind the plate, serving as the starting catcher for the USJ softball team. Her talent and commitment to the sport extended year-round as a member of the elite EC Bullets 18U Utz A-Level Showcase Team. Grounded in her faith and community, she is also an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
In recognition of her character, work ethic, and well-rounded accomplishments, Laura Kate is the proud recipient of the Jerry Devo Marsh Memorial Scholarship. This fall, she will take her academic and athletic talents to Delta State University, where she plans to major in Biology on a Pre-Med track with the ultimate career goal of becoming a Physician Assistant.
