The Happy Church

The Happy Church We are a Kids first ministry in the most impoverished region in the U.S. We have many outreach ministries! www.thehappychurch.org

The Happy Church started in 2002 as Jackson Grace Brethren Church. We are a part of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches (www.fgbc.org). As lead pastor Michael Tabor (pastor Mike) grew to know the community and the level of despair and hopelessness in the hearts and minds of a generous portion of the community, he decided to change the name of the church to the Happy Church. People can search

their whole lives for happiness and never know where it comes from. Jesus Christ himself said "In this world you will have trouble but be of good cheer (happy, courageous), I have overcome the world" He promises peace and joy to His followers at a level previously uncomprehensable regardless of what may be going on around us. We have the answer to eternal life and today's problems and we are happy to share Him with you!

**Help the Happy Church Bible Quizzers get to Holiday World ☺️**

The Happy Church Bible Quizzers have worked so hard all year long learning and memorizing God’s Word, competing in quizzing events, and growing in their faith. As a reward for all of their dedication and hard work, they will be taking a trip to Holiday World this summer! 🎢☀️ This will be the first trip to an amusement park for many of our kids!

The quizzers and their parents have already worked tirelessly through multiple fundraisers (including selling our Happy Chicken eggs) and have successfully covered the majority of the housing expenses for the trip. We are so proud of their commitment and effort!

We are now asking for help covering ticket costs for the kids and their parents. Any contribution, big or small, would be such a blessing and would help make this special trip possible for every child involved.

Most importantly, thank you for supporting these young people as they hide God’s Word in their hearts and grow into strong men and women of faith. ❤️

If you would like to give toward tickets, Vanessa’s (Mike and Connie’s daughter) Venmo and PayPal information are listed below, just type “Holiday World” as the reason!

What a beautiful Mother’s Day at The Happy Church! Our hearts are full after seeing a full house of precious families. We celebrated by gifting flowers to all the women and watching the kids lovingly create special arrangements for their moms. Truly a blessed day!"

The Honorable Robert Bruce McGuinness, Esq., 68, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, in Jackson, Kentucky where he resided with his wife, Genevieve Neace. Born on September 8, 1957, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late James B. and Carolyn N. (Mantz) McGuinness. He was predeceased by his brother:

Bob was a 1975 graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School. He graduated from Purdue University and earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1983 at the University of Alabama School of Law. Alongside Bob's passion for the law was his love of the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Eagles in that order: Bob was equally at home in a stadium and a Broadway theater, with a beer or a good glass of wine, in a board room or at a chess board, and before the bench, on the bench or warming the bench.

So proud of our amazing State Champions! 🏆📖

Yes, they brought home awards—and we’re celebrating that—but what matters most is something far greater: they’re hiding God’s Word in their hearts.

Seeds are being planted, faith is growing, and lives are being shaped for eternity. 💛

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11

We are canceling services for Sunday. Weather is the biggest factor, but there is a slim possibility the roads could be “good enough” by noon. I, pastor Mike, came down with Covid Thursday night. I am about 50% better already but not able to speak much without coughing. Also, with Phil, our tech magician, living in a shady hollow, he probably will not be able to get out. So, we are canceling, but hope to see y’all next week!

What a beautiful way to celebrate the season!

The presents, coats, food baskets, and other ministries remind us that Christmas is about giving, serving, and coming together.

We hope to demonstrate God’s provision by making bodies warm, stomachs full, and hearts blessed.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated and volunteered to make this possible!
