The Happy Church We are a Kids first ministry in the most impoverished region in the U.S. We have many outreach ministries! www.thehappychurch.org

The Happy Church started in 2002 as Jackson Grace Brethren Church. We are a part of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches (www.fgbc.org). As lead pastor Michael Tabor (pastor Mike) grew to know the community and the level of despair and hopelessness in the hearts and minds of a generous portion of the community, he decided to change the name of the church to the Happy Church. People can search their whole lives for happiness and never know where it comes from. Jesus Christ himself said "In this world you will have trouble but be of good cheer (happy, courageous), I have overcome the world" He promises peace and joy to His followers at a level previously uncomprehensable regardless of what may be going on around us. We have the answer to eternal life and today's problems and we are happy to share Him with you!

Happy Church Clayhole has opened, and we are now having regular services on Sundays at 11am. What a great celebration we had as this old flood damaged building has come back better than ever. Two photos, 23 years apart, and one faithful God! 📸✨

Looking at a photo from 2003 compared to one from yesterday, my heart is overflowing. I am so deeply thankful for these first Happy Church kids who are stepping up and taking over the ministry here. Yesterday was a day full of fun, nostalgia, and gratitude—and such a clear reminder of God's goodness over the years!

A few highlights from an incredible Sunday:

* Bible Quizzing Champions: Two of our 2003 quizzers, Mary Beth and Vanessa, helped our team win all three rounds and bring home the Honey Bowl Bible Quiz traveling trophy! The victory also came with prize money to support our Junior Bible Quiz team. 🏆�
* Clayhole Campus Blessings: Siblings, James Feltner and Mary Beth Turner are leading our kids ministry at Clayhole. James, his wife Sarah, and Beth led the largest Sunday School class at Clayhole since reopening! Nicole (a Clayhole local) and Amanda did a wonderful job leading worship. 🎶�
* Media & Tech: Philip and Amanda, keep things running smoothly by taking care of the audio/visual and media needs for both campuses.�
* Pumpkin Patch Fun: Victoria is now helping Trevor lead a dance/gymnastics team, and yesterday she hosted a "Pick Your Own Pumpkin" celebration at the Golden Egg Farm Stand to thank our Happy Church kids for helping mulch her new pumpkin patch earlier this year! A big thank you to the Summer Groups who made this event possible as well. �
* Community Worship: We ended the night at the Community worship service, where we heard powerful preaching, inspiring testimonies, and officially received our trophy and prize money.�
Yesterday was truly a great day. ❤️

Jack Strong Band will be at Happy Church Clayhole this Sunday at 11:00 with pastor Mike preaching.
Kids will take charge of worship at noon at our Jackson Campus with a Happy Church member preaching.
Join us this Sunday.

The building may have been destroyed, but God didn’t let the story stop there.

The Happy Church Clayhole is more than just a building. It’s a place full of history, built and maintained by people with a passion for sharing God’s love with the people of Eastern Kentucky. It’s a location designed with the intention to let everyone know that they are welcome and loved, to allow Christians to rejoice together, and to be a safe haven for those who are seeking and hurting.

We are so grateful for all of the people who made this restoration possible, and we are so excited to see of all the ways God will use this building for his glory☺️
