The Isle Area Chamber of Commerce is a group of local businesses, entities and individuals, organized and committed to promote the Isle and South Mille Lacs area business, economic, civic, commercial, cultural, industrial and educational interests. We connect business owners, organizations, and residents through events, advocacy, and shared opportunities that help Isle thrive year-round.

**BEST SUMMER MEAL AROUND THE LAKE!**

🥇🍖 **SMOKIN' MORTARS BBQ & MEAT MARKET!** 🍖🥇

People specifically called out their **BBQ, cookout meats and specials**, and one of those nominations picked up **seven additional likes and reactions** from people who apparently thought, *"Yep...that's my answer too!"* 😋

Apparently a whole lot of you think summer around Mille Lacs should involve **BBQ from Smokin' Mortars!**

Sounds like a pretty good excuse to stop in and see what everyone is talking about!

And there were plenty of other tasty suggestions too!

We also heard plenty of love for favorite local establishments including **The Den Coffee + Creamery, Goody's Corner Cafe, Isle Bowl and Pizza, BayView, Cedarwood, Mugg's, El Limon, Isle Muni, Beckham's and MSA Flagship.**

That's one of our favorite parts of **Who Does It Best Around The Lake?**

Yes, somebody gets the bragging rights each week - but everybody else gets a whole new list of local places and foods to go check out!

Smokin' Mortars isn't currently an Isle Area Chamber member, but judging by the community support they received this week, **we'd sure love to welcome them to the Chamber someday!**

🏆 THE VOTES ARE IN... AND SOUTH ISLE DOES IT AGAIN! 🏆

We asked you:

What annual event or tradition do you look forward to most in the Isle area?

And apparently the folks at South Isle Family Campground know how to show up when we ask a question! 😂

🥇 South Isle Family Campground's Labor Day White Elephant Auction took the top spot with an impressive 22 votes!

And this is one we're especially happy to spotlight.

South Isle Family Campground is a proud Isle Area Chamber of Commerce member, but what makes this annual tradition so special isn't just the fun. It's what happens because of it.

The White Elephant Auction has been going strong since 1994, and over the past 31 years, South Isle reports that the event has raised an incredible $236,618.50 for charity!

Organizations benefiting over the years have included MDA, CentraCare Cancer Foundation, the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention, and others.

That's what community is all about. People coming together, having a great time, and doing some real good along the way.

Congratulations to South Isle Family Campground and everyone who has helped make the White Elephant Auction such a special Labor Day tradition!

Now, we have to admit the Chamber got a little chuckle out of the rest of the results...

We might be a little biased, but we'll happily take those results! 😄

And one of the best things about this week's question was seeing just how many great traditions and destinations people associate with our area.

And to all the businesses, organizations, volunteers, and community members who keep these traditions alive year after year: thank you. You're a big part of what makes the Isle area such a great place to live, work, visit, and come back to.

🎵 **CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: RURAL MUSIC MINISTRIES** 🎵

Something BIG is happening in Isle this weekend, and we want to help get the word out!

The **2026 RURAL Music Festival** is coming to Isle **August 28–30**, bringing three days of live music, national recording artists, family activities, food trucks, vendors and more to our community.

And here’s one of the best parts:

**Admission is FREE!**

RURAL Music Ministries is much more than a music festival. This Isle-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit was founded with a mission to bring faith-based music and events to rural communities that might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience them.

Their very first R.U.R.A.L. Music Fest was held right here in Isle in 2022 and welcomed approximately **6,000 people over four days**. Since then, the organization has continued bringing events to rural communities in Minnesota and beyond.

Making events like this free or affordable takes an incredible amount of work, along with the generosity of sponsors, donors, volunteers and people who believe in what RURAL Music Ministries is doing.

We are proud to have **RURAL Music Ministries as a member of the Isle Area Chamber of Commerce**, and we're excited to see an event of this size happening right here in our community.

🇺🇸 **HELP US SPREAD THE WORD: NOMINATE A VETERAN FOR A FREE ROOF!** 🇺🇸

We love seeing our Chamber members step up to support our veterans and our community, and this is a program worth sharing.

**Higher Dimensions Roofing**, a member of the Isle Area Chamber of Commerce, is partnering with **Purple Heart Homes and Owens Corning** for the fourth year to provide a deserving veteran with a **BRAND NEW ROOF AT NO COST.**

That includes the materials, labor, permits, dumpster and everything needed for the roof replacement.

They're looking for a veteran who truly needs the help, particularly someone who is physically or financially unable to replace a leaking roof or doesn't have insurance to cover it.

**Nominations are being accepted through October 1.**

And here's something we really appreciate about this program: Higher Dimensions says that although they can only award one free roof, they plan to reach out to **every veteran who is nominated** to see if there is another way they can help. That could include an inspection, temporary patch or tarp repair, their 10% veteran discount, or other options.

🏆 **WHO DOES IT BEST AROUND THE LAKE?** 🏆

The votes are in for this week’s...

🍕 **BEST PIZZA AROUND THE LAKE** 🍕

And the winner is...

🥇 **ISLE BOWL & PIZZA!** 🥇

This one wasn’t even close.

With a strong showing from local pizza fans, **Isle Bowl and Pizza** took the top spot and earned this week’s local bragging rights!

👏 **BayView Bar & Grill** finished in second place, while **Nitti’s Hunters Point Resort** **Castaways Resort** and **Out of Place Restaurant** also received support from the community.

We love seeing so many great local favorites get mentioned. That’s exactly what this series is all about.

But this week, the spotlight belongs to **Isle Bowl and Pizza**.

As an **Isle Area Chamber of Commerce member**, we’re especially proud to recognize a business that has become such a familiar part of the Isle community.

And this isn’t the first time their name has come up in our weekly contests either.

🍦 Isle Bowl has already received plenty of love for their ice cream.

🍕 Now the community has officially crowned them **Best Pizza Around The Lake**.

That’s a pretty good combination!

Whether you’re stopping in for pizza, ice cream, bowling, or just a fun night out with family and friends, Isle Bowl & Pizza continues to be one of those local places people enjoy coming back to.
