Alexandra's Playground

Alexandra's Playground brings safe, active play into children’s daily lives, especially those growing up in underserved communities. A 501c3 nonprofit.

We donate playgrounds and support programs that encourage safe play. In memory of Alexandra Vitale. A donated Alexandra's Playground gives children a safe place to climb, play and explore. Children who regularly engage in active play grow up more physically, emotionally and cognitively healthy. The children, most living below the poverty level, also benefit in more subtle ways. They appreciate tha

t people that they don't know are willing to invest in their childhood, and their future. With a focus on programming in the NY-NJ-CT tri-state area, we have also donated playgrounds across the US, in Haiti, and in Afghanistan. An Alexandra’s Playground typically culminates in a community build, bringing families and neighborhoods together. We also support programs for active play, such as swim instruction for children growing up in inner city communities, and distributing activity bags of Summer Fun:JUST PLAY! We have donated more than 30 playgrounds and have positively impacted more than 30,000 children and their families. Alexandra's Playground was founded in 2009 by Dr. Michael and Andrea Vitale to honor the memory of their daughter, Alexandra Vitale, and is dedicated to positively impacting the world as they know she would have. We are a NY 501c3 charity. Our EIN is 27-1041088. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

As our first week of KidzLit summer programming wraps up, we want to shine a light on the generosity of Alexandra's Playground! Thanks to their thoughtful donation of satchels filled with summer goodies, our students at the Coachman Family Center are starting the season with extra smiles and excitement. We’re so excited to make this summer extra special for our kids! ☀️
