We donate playgrounds and support programs that encourage safe play. In memory of Alexandra Vitale. A donated Alexandra's Playground gives children a safe place to climb, play and explore. Children who regularly engage in active play grow up more physically, emotionally and cognitively healthy. The children, most living below the poverty level, also benefit in more subtle ways. They appreciate tha

t people that they don't know are willing to invest in their childhood, and their future. With a focus on programming in the NY-NJ-CT tri-state area, we have also donated playgrounds across the US, in Haiti, and in Afghanistan. An Alexandra’s Playground typically culminates in a community build, bringing families and neighborhoods together. We also support programs for active play, such as swim instruction for children growing up in inner city communities, and distributing activity bags of Summer Fun:JUST PLAY! We have donated more than 30 playgrounds and have positively impacted more than 30,000 children and their families. Alexandra's Playground was founded in 2009 by Dr. Michael and Andrea Vitale to honor the memory of their daughter, Alexandra Vitale, and is dedicated to positively impacting the world as they know she would have. We are a NY 501c3 charity. Our EIN is 27-1041088. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

It's so important to imprint active play and movement on kids as early as possible. Sedentary lifestyle is a cited factor for obesity of children across the US. In a recent study of six million children ages 2-19 they saw rates of obesity increase substantially with age. There are disparities across racial and ethnic groups, with higher rates of obesity among Black, Hispanic, American Indian, and Native Alaskan, Hawaiian and Pacific Islander youth. Ready to run with purpose? There’s still time to join the NYC Half Marathon on March 15th. As a long-standing Official Charity Partner, Alexandra’s Playground has a limited number of charity bibs still available. Join Team Alex and support the Gift of Play! We believe a child’s economic circumstances should never limit their access to safe, active play in their own community. We build community playgrounds, (41 and counting), distribute thousands of activity bags of Summer Fun every year, support swimming instruction, and still have more kids and communities to reach.
