💃🕺 Ballroom Dance Classes at the Backus Community Center!

Put on your dancing shoes — we're hosting Ballroom Dance Classes on Friday, June 19 and Friday, June 26 from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM!

Whether you're coming as a couple or flying solo, everyone is welcome on the dance floor. Come learn some moves, meet your neighbors, and have a great time!

🎨Announcing: ARTISTIC UNDERSTANDING with Bruce Trask🎨

Backus Community Center is excited to announce a special all-ages art course taught by award-winning local artist, art teacher, and former Arrowhead Regional Arts Council board member Bruce Trask.

Artistic Understanding will run Monday, August 3 through Friday, August 7, with two class times available:

Morning Class: 10 AM–12 PM
Afternoon Class: 2 PM–4 PM

This is the same course offered at two different times. Each class is limited to 12 students, with 24 students total for the week.

Students will explore design and setup, painting, drawing and sculpture fundamentals, perspective, design, and Bruce Trask’s own 12 Perspectives system, developed through years of research and creating art.

This course is designed to help students of all ages grow their artistic skill, confidence, and understanding in a supportive creative environment.

Cost: $50
Student Exhibition: Friday, August 7
The exhibition will be shared with students from the summer writing course.

Students who complete the course will receive a "World Artistic Understanding” certificate.

Space is limited, so sign up early!
