America 250 - A South Dakota Celebration 250 Years in the Making

The state's premier event in 2026 will be the fireworks display at Mount Rushmore National Memorial on Friday, July 3. From a partnership between the State of South Dakota, the U.S. Department of the Interior and the National Park Service, this patriotic display will be one of the most talked-about events of the year. Looking for an evening activity while visiting the Badlands? Our Evening Ranger Programs are back!

Programs will be held nightly through the summer at the Cedar Pass Lodge Amphitheatre. Evening Ranger Programs begin at 9pm, followed by a nightly Night Sky Program at 9:30 pm.
