A lot has been happening lately here in Uganda! Four of our boys have officially graduated from technical school and completed the Ripples program! Watching them cross this milestone, after everything they have worked through to get here, has been one of the greatest joys of this season.

Two of them have already found work. The other two are still in the process of finding the right job placement, and we are praying and believing for good doors to open for them soon.

Would you take a moment to pray with us for them?

Pray for all four of these young men as they step into this new chapter. Pray for the two still searching for a great placement, that the right opportunity would come at the right time. And pray for maturity, wisdom, and steadiness as they build stable lives, so that wherever they go, they can be a light and a source of ministry to those around them!

We are proud of them. And we are grateful for you walking alongside this journey with us!

Today we want to honor every mom out there. And every woman who loves as one: the grandmothers, the aunties, the mentors and friends who step in when a child needs someone. So much of mothering happens where nobody's looking. The late nights, the prayers said over sleeping kids, the big and small things that add up to a whole life poured out for someone else.

Every mom gives more than we can see and does more than we'll ever know, and we are thankful for all of it. Happy Mother's Day, from everyone at Ripples from the Well. 💙

Hope. A living hope isn’t wishful thinking for the future. It isn’t a warm memory of a good man who once lived. It’s grounded in a Savior who was dead and is alive right now.

That’s why the hope we carry can be shared. It goes with us wherever we go, into a classroom, across a dinner table, into the middle of someone’s hardest week. Sharing it is a privilege the resurrection gives to everyone who believes.

What a privilege that is. Happy Easter from all of us at Ripples from the Well.

Life has been busy around here!

School has been back in session for a couple of weeks, the team has been busy in the transition, already preparing and structuring things around this first school term, and a few new initiatives are close to seeing the light of day!

While we'll be sharing some more updates soon on some exciting things, would you pause to pray with us first before we hit the ground running?

Please pray:

- For the local church in Uganda to flourish and grow in wisdom, unity, and faithfulness to its calling as it leads and ministers within its community this season

- That first and foremost we seek and listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in these new seasons and initiatives, and that we respond in obedience wherever The Spirit leads or redirects

- For the students in both primary and secondary school as they are back into the first term of the year

- For the students who are exploring and entering a new season of life past secondary school in trades and university

- For the students and families we partner with, that they would know they are loved, that Christ loves them, and that this year would bring a radical encounter with Jesus

Have you ever wondered why we're called Ripples from the Well when we don't drill wells? We get asked this more than you'd think!

Ripples from the Well is based in Jinja, Uganda, a town that sits right where Lake Victoria empties into the Nile River. Thousands of rivers and streams pour into the lake, but only one river flows out, and it starts right here at The Source of the Nile in Jinja. The water that passes through our community will eventually reach the Mediterranean Sea, over 6,650 kilometers (4,000+ miles) away.

That's the picture behind our name, Ripples from the Well (or Amayengo Agensulo in Lusoga, our local language). The lake is the well, and from it, ripples flow outward further than we can see.

It's also how we think about our work. We come alongside the local church here in Uganda, serving and equipping them to care for children and families. We get to see children grow into leaders, families build toward self-sufficiency, and disciples make more disciples for Jesus, and we trust that what starts here will reach further than we'll ever know.
