Mid-Week Service Update: Longhorn Council Scouts, leaders, parents, and volunteers have reported an incredible 29,252 hours of community service so far this year! This week, we're shining a spotlight on the districts and units leading the way in service.

Every service project makes a difference, whether it's cleaning up a park, supporting a community event, collecting donations, or helping a local organization. The impact our Scouts are making across North and Central Texas is truly remarkable.

If your unit has completed service projects this year, make sure those hours are entered in Scoutbook. Reporting service hours helps us tell the story of Scouting's impact in our communities and ensures your unit receives credit for the great work being done.

Let's keep the momentum going and see how much we can increase our impact before Sunday's next update!

This valuable planning resource includes council-wide events, activities, trainings, and special opportunities scheduled from August 2026 through December 2027. Whether you're planning adventures for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, or adult leaders, the guide provides an overview of the programs available across the council. Unit leaders and Scouts are encouraged to review the guide and begin building their annual calendars now to ensure their members can take full advantage of the exciting opportunities ahead.

Please note that registration is not yet open for all 2027 events; however, the guide provides dates and key details to help units plan their programs well in advance.

Longhorn Council Scouts, leaders, parents, and volunteers have already reported nearly 29,000 service hours in 2026. That's an incredible impact on our communities, but we know the real number is much higher!

Whether you're participating in conservation projects, food drives, flag ceremonies, community cleanups, Eagle Scout projects, or countless other acts of service, make sure those hours are being recorded. Every hour helps tell the story of Scouting's impact across North and Central Texas and supports our council's goal of contributing 250,000 service hours as part of the America 250 celebration.

Please take a few minutes to report your unit's service hours through Scoutbook today. Together, we can ensure every act of service is counted and recognized.

What an incredible start to Summer Camp 2026 at Worth Ranch! Week 1 is nearly in the books, and Scouts have spent the week making memories, earning merit badges, exploring the outdoors, building friendships, and experiencing the BIG adventure that has made Worth Ranch a Scouting tradition for generations.

A huge THANK YOU to the leaders, staff, and Scouts for making it such a fantastic week of adventure.
