Y'ALL - we made it into Postcards magazine! With this story we hope to inspire a broader audience to apply for beds if needed, or volunteer their time with us, or donate to the cause. Giving a shoutout to an amazing group of SHSU students who, under the direction of Dr. April O'Brien, designed over a dozen amazing documents for our chapter! From tri-fold brochures to signs in English and Spanish, to 'explainer' documents for our volunteers and sponsors...these young adults thought of it all and delivered exceptional work. Thank you! We are beyond grateful to Region 6 Education Service Center for sponsoring a booth for us at the Kid's Expo last weekend! All the mascots loved our example bed 😎 And we loved getting to tell people about how we build beds and give them away for free to kids in the Huntsville area who need them! Help us spread the word, so that NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!

Another SEVENTEEN beds delivered this past Saturday, thanks to Mattress Firm in Huntsville - they sent a stellar team of hardworking volunteers and donated all the mattresses! Thank you Mattress Firm for your generosity to the kids in this community!

We got our shipment of ONE HUNDRED beds!! Thank you to Precision Interior Products for going above and beyond to help us unload the shipment. Thank you to the excellent crew of volunteers who showed up with trailers and a tractor and a willingness to down-stack thirteen pallets of material! Thank you to Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Lowe's Home Improvement for putting together the wonderful 24-hour build that made this all possible!

(This post is late....we were sleeping 🤣)
10,027 beds made in 24 hours - that's 7 beds per minute! And as we fly home today, a truck is making its way from Charlotte to Texas with 100 of these beds for our chapter 🚛 🛌 🥳 Thank you Lowe's! Thank you SHP for letting us be a part of it!

We started at midnight, clean and energized! We ended at 8am - FOUR THOUSAND BEDS LATER! - exhausted, covered in sawdust, and beyond grateful to get to be part of this incredible experience. We're off to catch a nap, then we'll be back for the cleanup and to get the final bed count!
