Join us on July 11 from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM as Cru Inner City LA, together with our amazing volunteers, packs more than 1,200 backpacks for churches across the inner city to use during their upcoming back-to-school outreach events.

Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole morning, your help will make a real difference in the lives of students and families throughout our city.

Bryant Lee was born and raised in St. Louis MO. He is passionate about teaching and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ with clarity. A natural leader and a strong emphasis on discipling men, he is the founding and Senior Pastor of Higher Expectations Church in Humble, Texas.

He is a well-decorated soldier, having served well both in combat and in times of peace prior to his retirement from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service. Bryant holds a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies from Grantham University and a Master’s of Theology from Liberty University.

Bryant has a relentless passion to reach the generation of gospel-centered, Kingdom-minded leaders. In addition to serving the Union Baptist Association and pastoring Higher Expectations, Bryant is the president of The Collaborative Fellowship and serves on the board of the Christian Life Commission for Texas Baptist. He is the National Affiliate Director for Cru Inner City a national ministry committed to serving leaders in urban inner city communities throughout the United States.

Bryant resides in Humble, TX, with his wife, Dell (Joseph) Lee of 33 years; they have 4 adult children: sons Bryant Jr (Timere) and Joshua (Rasha), daughters Brionna and Kalyn. additionally, they are the proud grandparents to Jasyn and Josh Jr, and Xavier.

Samuel Dickey Gordon (August 12, 1859 – June 1936) was a prolific author and evangelical lay minister active in the latter part of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Born in Philadelphia, he served as assistant secretary of the Philadelphia Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) in 1884-86 and then became state secretary for the YMCA in Ohio, serving from 1886 to 1895.

He is perhaps best known for his series of books “Quiet Talks on ...”, published from 1903 onwards, which have their own unique style very much different to that of other writers of the day.
