We are excited to introduce our Board Member at Large, Hazel! Hazel has been serving on Ottawa Area Center for Pride's board for the past 2 years. They were on the board for Hudsonville Area Pride in 2025.

Hazel is passionate about advocacy and her work at OACFP. "Community is everywhere, and I think it's really important to be loud about being a safe place in an area that can be scary to navigate for q***r folk so they know that they have a place here and that they belong here."

When Hazel isn't working, they are reading (119 books so far this year!), writing, or creating art. Come say hello to Hazel at our upcoming events!

We are excited to introduce our Board Member at Large, Taylor! Taylor is one of the founding members of Ottawa Area Center for Pride, and has served on the board for the past 7 years.

Taylor says she finds the work OACFP does rewarding. When sharing a memory from Hudsonville Area Pride 2025, she said: " Seeing everyone truly feel seen, valued, and celebrated for being their true selves is hands down one of my favorite memories to date."

If Taylor were a fruit, she would be a blueberry. "They're pretty mellow fruits, but every once in a while, you get a zinger or a super sweet one. " Say hi to Taylor at our upcoming events!

We are delighted to introduce you to our Secretary, Megan! Megan has served on Ottawa Area Center for Pride's Board for four years; she is also on the board for Hudsonville Area Pride.

Megan is excited by her work and advocacy at Ottawa Area Center for Pride and Hudsonville Area Pride because she "loves creating and sharing safe spaces where people can be their authentic selves."

When she's not busy, Megan LOVES watching all sports (preferably on multiple screens!). Come say hello to Megan at our upcoming events!

We are thrilled to introduce you to our Vice President, Christina B.! Christina has been involved with Ottawa Area Center for Pride since its inception, serving on the board for 7 years (and counting). She has been facilitating support groups for the transgender and gender-nonconforming communities for 8 years.

Christina is passionate about OACFP because, “In a world that keeps trying to tell us we can't be who we want to be or try to invalidate our existence, I fight to challenge and counteract that thinking.”

When she’s not advocating for our community, Christina can be seen playing Pokemon Go “like it’s my job.” Stop by and say hi to Christina at future events!

We are extremely excited to introduce you to our President, Christina W.! For the past 4 years, Christina has dedicated herself to OACFP and our community (she’s also on the board for Hudsonville Area Pride!).

Christina is passionate about her work at Ottawa Area Center for Pride and Hudsonville Area Pride. “It was so rewarding to hear stories of people who never believed there would be a Pride in Hudsonville."

We at OACFP wanted to take a moment to respond to Michigan reversing its ban on conversion therapy.

While the courts claim banning conversion therapy "violates free speech," we beg the question: what about the free speech of the individuals coerced and compelled to go through these horrific programs? Conversion "therapy" is not therapy: it is cruel and unsafe. The individuals who make these programs possible should be contrite.

We at OACFP will always support your innate human right to be yourself. We will never participate in or support any actions that shame or attempt to change a person's identity. You deserve to be seen for exactly who you are. You have the right to be here. You have the right to be heard. You deserve to be supported, accepted, and lifted up.
