Last April, 10 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty. The cause breakdown (April 2026 only) is: six by gunfire, three automobile crashes, and one vehicular assault. This means that as of April 30th, the year-to-date total for line of duty deaths was 36, a 0% increase over the same period last year.
