What a great end to a big week!

We ended the week with a coffee bar from our supportive principal (thanks Ms. Wilson)!

We also drew names for the raffle we had going all week. Congrats to the following:

What a wonderful use of PTA funds! A visionary teacher proposed acquiring mats for underneath the swings, given the considerable time spent assisting children onto them during recess. We purchased one as a trial, and the results were telling.

After a heartfelt comment, “A child came to me crying the other day because someone was using the swing with the mat and they couldn’t get up into any of the other swings,” it was voted to buy more!

Today the rest of them were put into place. Happy spring break!

Our 2026 Color Blast Fun Run was amazing and we have many people to thank! If you know a donor, please thank them because they made this run possible and free for everyone. We had 89 students attend and an event this big takes LOTS of volunteers. Thank you to all of you who helped today! Members of our PTA family and HES staff arrived early this morning to get everything set up. Parents sent in water and snacks. We are grateful for DJ Barry Tosh, who always does an incredible job of elevating the excitement and energy. Sugar and Air (Jordan Henderson and family) made the beautiful balloon arch. Mrs. Dowdell designed and made the shirts. Bays Trash Removal supplied the portable toilet and handwashing station. The Girls on the Run team sponsored the race bib decorating station. HES SCA members helped set up and clean up. Clean up was quick and easy with many hands to help. Thanks to all of the families who helped keep our school grounds nice and clean. So many people played a part in making this event a success and we are thankful for our close and dedicated Huddleston family. Families, thank you for coming out today! If you have pictures that you would like to share, feel free to drop them in the comments.
