Our first year banners will be up past Veterans Day then back up in the spring as the program grows. As a reminder applications are available at the Mayor’s Office.

Just a reminder to the community to stop down to the Mayor’s Office to pick up the E-Bike safety sheet. We know how much of a problem the E-Bikes and Scooters are in all communities so we want to help as much as we can. We are looking to all options including working with our state legislators. Please stop down to the Mayor’s Office for the safety sheet and a free children’s helmet courtesy of Hubbard Community Fund (first come first serve).

Unfortunately on Friday morning one of our last large trees at Tylee Park was damaged. Saturday it needed to be completely removed to protect the park and to save the gazebo. Thank you to Kent Kelley & his crew for their fast response to mitigate the damage.

Hubbard Police Department Investigates Domestic Violence Shooting; Suspect Charged with Felonious Assault

July 3, 2026

The Hubbard Police Department is investigating a domestic violence incident that escalated into a shooting during the early morning hours of July 2nd at a residence in the 300 block of Parish Avenue.

Officers were contacted by a female who reported that she had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend and that he fired multiple gunshots in her direction as she fled the residence in her vehicle.

The victim sustained minor injuries consistent with an alleged assault and was evaluated at the scene by Eagle Joint Fire District EMS personnel.

Detective Sergeant Michael Banic obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence. During the search, investigators recovered one spent shell casing from inside the residence and ten additional spent shell casings from the front porch area. A fi***rm recovered from the living room was determined to be consistent with the recovered shell casings. Investigators also recovered a second fi***rm and am******on from the suspect's pickup truck.

The suspect, Sherry Ray Alexander, was arrested and charged with Felonious Assault. He is currently being held at the Trumbull County Jail. The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed as investigators continue reviewing the evidence.

This case is a reminder that domestic violence can quickly escalate into life-threatening violence.

City of Hubbard lead line identification project has been completed. The grant allowed the city to partner with Arcadis to do small excavations around the city to identify and map both private and public water lines with the goal of meeting the federal government’s get the lead out initiative. 🔵 If you still have a blue flag in your yard you can go ahead and remove it, thank you for your cooperation.
