This week is National Police Week, where we pause to honor America’s law enforcement community. Peace Officers Memorial Day, observed annually on May 15, was established in 1962 by John F. Kennedy to recognize the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of the men and women who serve and protect our communities.

The Hubbard City Chaplains will hold a memorial service on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hubbard Administration Building / Council Chambers to honor the courageous officers who gave their lives in the line of duty — protecting our families, standing on the front lines, and safeguarding our communities with selfless commitment.

This event is open to the public, and we invite all members of the community to attend as we remember and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We’re proud to support Sgt. David Oaks, a retired Hubbard City Police Officer and member of FOP Lodge 132, in his continued involvement with the 2026 Law Enforcement United – Road to Hope.

While David no longer rides, he remains an active supporter of this mission—standing behind the riders and the cause that matters most: honoring fallen officers and supporting the survivors they leave behind.

Law Enforcement United brings together officers, families, and supporters from across the country to raise awareness and critical funding for organizations like C.O.P.S., Spirit of Blue Foundation, and the Officer Down Memorial Page—groups that provide survivor support, officer safety resources, and ensure the sacrifices of the fallen are never forgotten.

This is about more than a ride. It’s about remembering, supporting, and standing united.
We encourage our community to learn more, share, and support this important effort.

On December 14, 2025, the Hubbard FOP Lodge 132 and Hubbard Township FOP Lodge 85 were proud to partner together for a Shop With a Cop event at Liberty Walmart.

We extend a sincere thank you to all of the donors, volunteers, officers, and community members who participated and helped make this event a success. A special thank you to Liberty Walmart for their continued support and generosity.

We would also like to thank Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for generously providing the limousine transportation for the children, which made the day even more special and memorable.

Shop With a Cop is a great way for officers, the public, and especially the children to share positive, meaningful interactions while strengthening trust and community relationships. Because of your support, many children experienced a joyful and unforgettable holiday moment.
