Starlight Outreach and Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue, founded & led by a female veteran. Starlight Outreach and Rescue (S.O.A.R.)

is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue that started with a small group of volunteers who wanted to support the efforts of Houston-area shelters to provide a better quality of life for stray and abandoned animals, medical attention beyond the scope/capabilities of the facilities, and fostering and rescue services for animals with special needs. The organization is named in honor of Emma Starlight Hyde who was just 14 years old when she passed away unexpectedly in October 2017. Emma and her mom Shelley, with the support of their family, volunteered at shelter events, such as the annual Shelter Dog Birthday Party, and fostered baby kittens to ensure they received proper socialization and feeding during the weaning period. Emma put in a lot of time and effort to get her kittens used to interaction with and handling by people, which helped ensured all her fosters were highly adoptable by the time they returned to the shelter and were put up for adoption.

Emma’s bright and caring spirit continues on in this organization, lighting the way for stray and abandoned pets to find their way to their forever homes.

🐾 Help for community cats! 💕
We don’t talk about it often, but Starlight Outreach & Rescue helps support dedicated trappers in our area who are working hard to reduce the feral cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). 💗
Today, four community cats went to Fix Your Pet in Santa Fe for spay surgeries! 🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈 In addition to being spayed, all four cats are receiving vaccines (including Rabies), Capstar for flea treatment, and an ear tip/tattoo. These services help protect the cats’ health and make it easier to identify them as sterilized community cats.
The total cost for today’s care is $290. ❤️
Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to prevent unwanted litters and humanely manage community cat populations. We’re so grateful for the dedicated trappers who give their time and effort to this important work, and we want to help them help even more cats!
💗 We’re raising funds to help cover today’s $290 expense and support future spay and neuter surgeries for community cats in our area. Our goal is to keep these efforts going so we can help prevent more unwanted litters and make a lasting difference.
🐾 Whether you can donate $5, $10, or more, every contribution adds up! Please consider donating and sharing this post to help us continue supporting these efforts.
Together, we can make a difference, one, or four cats at a time! ❤️🐱

PLEASE SHARE to help find a home for Whoopsie Daisy!
Whoopsie Daisy is one lucky little girl! She was found all alone with no mom in sight by one of Starlight Outreach & Rescue’s amazing foster families. She quickly made herself at home and is showing everyone what a sweet, playful, and social kitten she is.
Whoopsie Daisy had a bit of a rough start—she was found with a botfly larva burrowed in her neck/chest area. Thankfully, she received the care she needed and has completely healed. Now she’s busy doing what kittens do best: playing, exploring, and soaking up all the love she can get!
Her foster family has a wonderful track record of producing some of the sweetest and most social kittens, and Whoopsie Daisy is no exception. She is friendly, playful, and will soon be ready to find a family who will love her for a lifetime.
Whoopsie Daisy has been around school age children and cats. She is litterbox trained, up to date on her kitten vaccines, wormed and she will be microchipped and spayed as part of her adoption. If you are interested in giving Whoopsie Daisy a loving home, please fill out our no obligation adoption form here bit.ly/starlightadopt and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
