This past Saturday, Horseheads Rotary served up hot dogs and smiles at the annual Strong Kids Safe Kids at Chemung County Fairgrounds. We had a great turnout and plenty of sunshine to go around!

The Horseheads Rotary Club was recognized for our dedication and commitment last night at the Horseheads village board meeting for the village of Horseheads adopt-a Park program . Marion and Calvin were present and received a certificate from the village mayor. Recognizing our Community service and support at keeping Teal Park a vibrant part of our community !

The Horseheads Rotary and The Sunrise Rotary along with some volunteer youth worked together Tuesday morning to pick Teal Park as part of their adopt a park commitment.

We recently held our changeover dinner at 1157 North, where we enjoyed a superb meal. We extended a warm welcome to our new president, Calvin Barnstead, as well as President-Elect Marion Decker, Vice President Brenda Barnstead, Secretary Grace Dalton, and Treasurer Barb Keller, who graciously agreed to continue in her role. We also celebrated the achievements of our past year under the leadership of Past President Jeff Tobey, during which we completed over 1100 hours of service in our community. Special recognition was given to Brenda Benza for her dedication to honoring the birthdays of residents at the Chemung County Nursing Facility and her efforts in collecting items for the SPCA. We also honored Marianne Kalec for her work with Camp Star, Marion Decker for her contributions to our various service projects, Calvin Barnstead for his involvement in the Teal Park Project, Sue Schneck for her consistent availability to assist with service projects, and Dr. Greg Schultz. Additionally, we welcomed our new Assistant District Governor, Kelly Comfort, and acknowledged the service of our Past Assistant District Governor, Bridgette Stewart.

Today our Rotary Area Governor, Bridgette Stewart, presented our club president, Kelly Graf Comfort, with an award recognizing the Chemung County Sunrise Rotary Club’s page as the Best Club page.
The award was especially meaningful as this was our president’s first meeting back after a total knee replacement just four weeks ago.
Congratulations on the well-deserved recognition, and welcome back!

Euchre Tournament Announcement: Join us at the Horseheads Masonic Lodge on Saturday, June 20th at 4 pm for an exciting euchre tournament. The $20 entry fee includes participation in random partner assignments that change every game. Cash prizes and a 50/50 drawing are part of the event, and food will be sold on site. To register, email [email protected], send a message, or arrive at the lodge by the scheduled start time.
