I’m proud to have earned the endorsement of International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local Union #1 and Tile Marble & Terrazzo Bac Local Union 7 of Ny & N. The hardworking men and women of organized labor built New York, and they deserve leaders in Albany who will always stand up for good-paying union jobs, strong benefits, and working families.

It was great to speak at the Community Catch Up and stop by Ocean Park’s Grandparents Day to spend time with so many families and neighbors.

Being out in the community, listening to people, hearing their concerns, and having real conversations is what this campaign is all about. We are building bridges, bringing people together, and creating unity across every neighborhood in this district. Last night, I was honored to join our community in remembering Staff Sergeant Angel Sarah Rampersad. It was truly moving to see so many people come together to honor her life, her service, and the sacrifice she made for our country. Thank you to the Ozone Park Residents Block Association for organizing such a beautiful vigil and giving our community the opportunity to stand together in remembrance.

No pain like this is ever easy, but I hope the love and support shown by our community brought even a small measure of comfort. May we always honor Angel’s memory and never forget her sacrifice.

We’ve continued to stay busy all across the district, meeting with constituents, listening to their concerns, and having meaningful conversations about the issues that matter most. We also stood with our Guyanese community during this difficult time, offering our prayers and support following this heartbreaking tragedy. Every day is another opportunity to be present, listen, and work to make our community stronger. Together, we’ll keep moving forward.

It was great spending the afternoon with our new District Leader Jonathan Lazo, at the Fulton Friends Club annual picnic.

Jonathan has already shown an incredible commitment to serving our community, and I have no doubt he has a bright future ahead. The future is in good hands, not just in the 23rd Assembly District, but also the 32nd Council District. I’m grateful to have him on our team and look forward to all we’ll accomplish together.

There was a column written in this week's issue of The Wave that insinuated I had something to do with Councilwoman Ariola's budget victories for her district. I want to make clear that I was in no way responsible for that, nor for Councilwoman Ariola's relationship with the Council speaker.

Councilwoman Ariola and Speaker Menin had a long-established positive relationship long before Speaker Menin was elected to the speakership role, and that strong relationship continues to this day.
