The Wolves finished off their year with a hike at Holmdel Park looking for animals and evidence of wildlife. They also made a trail mix with healthy foods for energy and M&Ms for a treat (the best part!).

We had Marc, an education specialist with NJ Fish and Wildlife within the NJ DEP, give an informative presentation about fossils from New Jersey. Then the kids got to sort through 15 million year old sediments to find several different types of fossils.
The following morning, Wolf families went fossil hunting with the Monmouth County park rangers at Big Brook Park and found lots of shark teeth. You never know what you might find here in our own backyards!

The Wolf den had a special visit from while working on their Running with the Pack adventure. Dr. Menon and Courtney from Newman Springs Dental taught the boys about the importance of keeping our teeth and gums healthy with regular brushing and flossing. The boys had lots of interesting questions and even learned that the snail is the animal with the most teeth!

A little sneak peek of the adventures that await in Boy Scouts: Our recent AOLs already had the opportunity to go on camping trips.
Back in March they went on a camping cook-o-ree where they learned cooking skills. Troop 131 is also the Iron Chef champion for the 3rd year in a row defeating 31 other teams! Given hot dogs, corn and jellybeans and 1 hour to create a gourmet meal, the two scouts competing created skirt steak tacos with hot dog bacon, corn salsa and jellybean teriyaki glaze. 🏆
Last weekend they went on a backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail and endured all the ups and downs.
With trips almost every month, you'll be sure to discover new adventures!

Pack 131 made waves at our annual Raingutter Regatta! The boat captains came ready to sail and had so much fun racing. A special thank you to for allowing us to use the station and for showing the kids the really cool firetrucks.
