Today, on Memorial Day…

before anything else…

we remember.

We remember the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice and never made it home.

Everything we are able to enjoy today…

our freedoms…

our families…

our communities…

and the ability to gather together this weekend…

exists because someone gave everything for this country.

At Throwing 2 Honor, that remembrance is the foundation of our entire mission.

Never knew this was here. Thank you to my wife for suggesting we go there today as camp was a bit rainy. That was emotional and humbling and a reminder to me that what I do for my charity is the right thing.

Did you know that today is Armed Forces Day?

While it may not receive the same level of attention as Memorial Day or Veterans Day, it is just as important and deserves to be recognized with pride and gratitude.

So what is the difference?

🇺🇸 Armed Forces Day honors all of those CURRENTLY serving in the United States Military — including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force, Army National Guard, and Air National Guard.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day honors the brave men and women who gave their lives while actively serving our country.

🇺🇸 Veterans Day honors ALL who have served in the United States Military, both living and deceased, and is observed every year on November 11th.

Today, Throwing 2 Honor proudly recognizes the men and women currently wearing the uniform and continuing to protect the freedoms we often take for granted every single day.

This past Monday, I was asked about Throwing 2 Honor patches. Truthfully, we’ve never sold them online and that’s where they were looking to get them. They’ve always been more of a personal token of appreciation that I give to people who’ve been there to support our mission.

By chance, I happened to have 2 patches with me that night (I think that’s the last of them!) and give them to 2 incredible people - Bryce Ott & Madison Ott

The amount of joy, gratitude, and appreciation they showed me after receiving something so small was honestly inspiring. It reminded me that sometimes it’s not really about the patch itself — it’s about what it represents.

Moments like that are what keep me motivated to continue doing what we do at Throwing 2 Honor. Knowing that even the smallest gesture can make someone feel seen, appreciated, and connected to something bigger than co****le, means more than I can put into words.

It may have just been a patch… but it was so much more than that.
