Tanner's Bible Ministry

Tanner's Bible Ministry Our goal through this ministry is to share Tanner's love through God's word with as many people as possible! Tanner was a typical 21 year old Texas boy.

He was intelligent and had a curiosity for life beyond his years from a young age. He was an athlete and had a passion for most sports, but excelled in wrestling and football... and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Tanner was a gentle soul and had a deep love for his family. He was a socializer and made friends easily. He had a large network of friends and had a heart for giving the best of himself

to everyone - whether through a kind word of encouragement or an act of selflessness. Tanner also was suffering from his own struggles with consequences of bad decisions and addiction. He never showed his own pain and struggle - always offering encouragement or support to others. Tragically, Tanner passed away at the age of 21 on December 3, 2020 due to a fentanyl overdose. His death has left an emptiness that will never be filled this side of heaven for so many family and friends. Tanner always admired his big brother Justin. His pride and greatest joy was being an uncle to his nieces and nephew Austyn, Asher and Alyxiia Moore. He also took great pride in being a big brother to his younger twin siblings - brother and sister Kelly & Karli! He left behind a grief stricken dad, Kenneth, mom, Stephanie and many extended family members and friends. Tanner is remembered most for his infectious smile, compassionate heart, lifting people up even when he was at a low point in life and his love for everyone he met, especially his family. Tanner was a hugger and loved giving and receiving hugs. He had recently added a new tattoo on his forearm to his collection, "family" - he was really proud of that one. We will forever be Tanner's family and our prayer is to bring honor to his memory and share his love through God's word - one bible at a time!

📖 Verse of the Day

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

Galatians 5:25

Reflection:

The Christian life isn’t about striving harder—it’s about surrendering deeper. Galatians 5:25 invites us to something quiet but powerful: to walk with the Spirit step by step, breath by breath. Not sprinting ahead in self-effort. Not dragging behind in fear. But moving in rhythm with His grace.

In real life, that means pausing before we react. Choosing peace when pressure rises. Trusting His timing when the way feels unclear. The Spirit doesn’t bark commands—He whispers direction. He doesn’t push us forward—He draws us closer.

The fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience—aren’t goals to grind for. They’re signs we’ve been walking with Him. Like branches connected to the vine, we don’t force growth—we receive it.

So today, slow down. Breathe deep. You don’t need to map out the whole path. You only need to stay close. The Spirit knows the terrain. He’s not just showing the way—
He is the way.

Ask Yourself:

Am I trying to control the pace of my life—or letting the Spirit lead me one step at a time?

What would it look like to walk with Him today, not just believe in Him?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear Lord,

You know how easily I drift—rushing ahead when I’m anxious, falling behind when I’m afraid. But today, I want to walk with You. Not in my strength, but in quiet surrender. Help me slow down, hear Your whisper, and follow the rhythm of Your Spirit—step by step, breath by breath. Shape my pace with Your peace, my heart with Your love, and my steps with Your presence.

I don’t need to see the whole path—I just need to trust You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🖋 Quote of the Day

“Trying to do the Lord's work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting, and tedious of all work. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you.”

📖 Verse of the Day

“Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Psalm 23:6

Reflection

Sometimes, it's the simplest words that hold the deepest truths. "Surely goodness and love will follow me"—it sounds so gentle, so passive. But the Hebrew word for "follow" here? It's radaph. It means to chase, to pursue, to run after.

This isn't a picture of blessings casually trailing behind us. This is a God who actively, relentlessly pursues us with His goodness and love. It's love on a mission.

Think about it. That unexpected provision when you were at your wit's end. That comfort that flooded your heart in the midst of grief. That strength that somehow carried you through the impossible. That wasn't chance—that was His pursuit. His grace is pursuing you.

And here's the best part: this pursuit leads to an eternal home. "I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Today, let this truth sink in. You are chased by a love that will never give up, a love that's already prepared your place with Him, forever.

Ask Yourself

When have I felt God's goodness and love pursuing me in my life?

How can I open my heart more fully to God's relentless pursuit today?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Father,

I confess—sometimes I run. From my fears, my failures, even from You. But You don’t let me go. You chase me with a love that’s relentless, a goodness that won’t quit.

Thank You for finding me in my mess, for holding me when I’m broken, and for dancing with me in my joys. Help me see Your pursuit in every moment—in the quiet whispers of peace, the strength that surprises me, and the hope that breaks through my darkest nights.

Remind me I’m not wandering; I’m headed home, to dwell with You forever. Thank You for loving me too much to let me go.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

📖 Verse of the Day

“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.”

Proverbs 12:25

Reflection:

Anxiety. It's a word that resonates deeply in our fast-paced, often overwhelming world. Proverbs 12:25 doesn't shy away from this reality; it acknowledges it head-on: "Anxiety weighs down the heart." It's a weight many of us know all too well.

But the verse doesn't stop there. It offers a solution, a light in the darkness: "a kind word cheers it up." In the face of anxiety's heaviness, kindness becomes a powerful counterbalance. This is more than just a feel-good sentiment. It's a call to action, reminding us of the profound impact we can have on others. We have the opportunity to be light-bearers, to offer words that uplift, encourage, and heal.

As we extend kindness, we ourselves often experience a lightness too. Kindness multiplies, spreading light to both the giver and the receiver. Today, let's take this proverb to heart. Let's seek those moments to speak a kind word, to be a source of cheer in someone's day. You never know the impact a single word of kindness can have – it might just be the very thing that lightens someone's load.

Ask Yourself:

Who might need a kind word from me today?

How can I be more mindful of the impact my words have?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear Lord,

In a world filled with so many worries and what-ifs, help me to remember the power of kindness. Guide my words today, so they may bring comfort, hope, and a smile to those who need it most. Let me be a source of light, using my voice to uplift and cheer the hearts around me, just as You do for me every day.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

📖 Verse of the Day

“Show me Your ways, Lord, teach me Your paths.”

Psalm 25:4

Reflection

Life is a series of choices, a winding path filled with twists and turns. Maybe you're facing a decision that weighs heavy on your heart, or perhaps it's just the quiet whisper of "what now?" that keeps you awake at night. In these moments of uncertainty, David's prayer in Psalm 25:4 becomes our own: "Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths."

This isn't just a prayer for major life decisions—it's an invitation to walk with God in every step. When we pray these words, we're acknowledging that His wisdom far surpasses our own. We're choosing to trust the One who sees the path from beginning to end.

The beautiful truth is that God's paths aren't just directions—they're invitations into deeper relationship with Him. Every step becomes an opportunity to know His heart, to experience His faithfulness, to discover His perfect love. Though His ways may sometimes seem mysterious, they always lead to life in all its fullness. Our steps become less about control and more about trust, less about our plans and more about His purpose.

So today, whatever crossroads you face, remember: you don't have to figure it all out alone. He's not just pointing the way—He's walking with you every step of the journey.

Ask Yourself

What decision in your life needs God's guidance right now?

How might your paths look different if you truly followed God's ways?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Heavenly Father,

Sometimes I feel so lost, so unsure of which way to go. But I know that Your wisdom is perfect, Your ways are good. So today, I echo David's prayer: show me Your way, Lord. Teach me Your paths.

Give me the courage to follow Your lead, even when the road is unclear. I trust that as I walk in obedience, You'll guide me to a place far better than I could find on my own. Thank You for being a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.

📖 Verse of the Day

“Jesus wept.”

John 11:35

Reflection:

"Jesus wept." These two simple words reveal so much about our Savior's heart. Standing at Lazarus's tomb, Jesus is moments away from performing an incredible miracle - raising His friend from the dead. Yet, He pauses to share in the grief of Mary, Martha, and the other mourners.

Even knowing the joy that's about to unfold, Jesus enters fully into the present sorrow of those He loves. He doesn't rush to fix the situation; He first connects with their pain, showing us that our emotions matter deeply to God.

This moment beautifully illustrates Christ's nature - divine yet deeply human. He feels our pain authentically, even when He knows resolution is coming. For us, this means we have a Savior who truly understands our sorrows. When we grieve, Jesus grieves with us.

Today, whatever you're facing, remember: Jesus meets you in your emotions. He invites us to be honest with our feelings, knowing He's present in both our joys and our pains. This is the God we serve - One who weeps with us and works wonders for us.

Ask Yourself:

How can I be more open with God about my emotions, even the difficult ones?

In what ways can I show compassion to others who are grieving, just as Jesus did?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear God,

Thank You for Jesus, who shows us it's okay not to be okay. When I feel like hiding my tears or think I'm the only one struggling, remind me that You understand.

Help me be real with You, God. Give me the courage to open up about what's hurting, both to You and to the people I trust. And when others are hurting, let me be the one who offers comfort, just like Jesus did.

In every season of life, I want to feel You close. Thank You for being a God who walks with us, even through the messiest parts of our lives. Knowing You're there, in the tears and the laughter, gives me hope.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

📖 Verse of the Day

“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”

Romans 8:18

Reflection

Some pain feels unbearable. There are seasons where you wonder if the suffering will ever end—when the waiting feels endless, the prayers seem unanswered, and the weight of life presses in from all sides.

But God sees you.

Paul, who endured beatings, imprisonment, and loss, knew suffering well. Yet, he boldly declares that our present struggles are nothing compared to the glory God is preparing. Not because suffering isn’t real—it is—but because it isn’t final.

Pain isn’t the last chapter of your story—glory is.

Think about that. The things breaking you today? One day, they will only magnify the beauty of what God has done in you. Every trial, every tear, every silent prayer is being woven into something greater than you can imagine.

And here’s the most incredible part: God isn’t just preparing something amazing for you—He’s preparing you for something amazing. Like gold refined in fire, your struggles are shaping you for a glory beyond compare.

So hold on. Keep trusting. One day, you’ll see that every moment of pain was worth it.

Ask Yourself

What struggles in my life feel overwhelming right now?

How does the promise of God’s future glory change the way I see my current hardships?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Father,

Some days feel so heavy. The waiting is hard, the pain is real, and sometimes I wonder if things will ever change. But I know You see me. You hear every prayer, You catch every tear, and You are working—even when I don’t understand.

Give me the strength to hold on, the faith to believe You are shaping me through this, and the peace to trust that this pain is temporary, but Your glory is forever. I trust You, Lord. Even in the waiting. Even in the suffering. Because I know the story isn’t over.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

📖 Verse of the Day

“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”

Proverbs 11:2

Reflection

In a world obsessed with status and success, Proverbs 11:2 speaks a timeless truth: pride leads to a fall, while humility opens the door to wisdom.

Pride is one of the heart's most subtle deceptions. It doesn't always announce itself with boasting or arrogance. Instead, it grows quietly within us—a gradual sense of self-sufficiency, a slow drift from dependence on God. Before we realize it, we're standing on our own strength, needing Him less and less.

But true humility lights a different path. It's not about thinking less of ourselves—it's about thinking of ourselves less. It's recognizing that all we have and all we are is a gift from God. In humility, we remain teachable, open to His gentle correction, recognizing our daily need for His wisdom.

In a world that often shouts "Look at me!", let's whisper "Look at Him." For it's in bowing low that we truly rise.

Ask Yourself

In what areas of your life do you struggle with pride the most?

How can you practice humility in those areas today?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear Heavenly Father,

So often I find myself trying to prove my worth, trusting in my own strength and wisdom. Thank You for reminding me that true strength isn't found in appearing perfect, but in humbling myself before You.

Create in me a truly humble heart—not one that denies Your gifts, but one that remembers their Source. When pride tempts me to shine the spotlight on myself, gentle my heart to point to You instead. Help me walk this path of humility today, not because it's easy, but because it leads me closer to Your heart.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

📖 Verse of the Day

“Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘Because of your faith, it will happen.’”

Matthew 9:29

Reflection:

Have you ever felt like your faith was too small to matter? Maybe you've prayed for something, hoping against hope, but wondering if it really makes a difference. In Matthew 9:29, Jesus offers us a life-changing truth: "Because of your faith, it will happen."

Imagine that moment. Two blind men, living in a world of darkness, dared to believe Jesus could change everything. They didn't have perfect lives or unshakeable faith. They simply trusted that Jesus was who He said He was.

And that's the beautiful simplicity of faith. It's not about having all the answers or never doubting. It's about bringing our mustard seed of trust to Jesus and watching Him work wonders.

This verse invites us to examine our own hearts. Have we allowed past disappointments to dim our expectations of what God can do? Have we settled for a comfortable faith instead of one that transforms?

Today, let's dare to believe again. Bring your hopes, your hurts, your seemingly impossible situations to Jesus. Your faith, however small, is precious to God. It's the key that unlocks His power in your life.

Remember, Jesus isn't looking for perfection; He's looking for trust. And He's ready to meet your faith, right where you are, with His miraculous love.

Ask Yourself:

What situation in my life needs a touch of faith today?

How can I trust God more, even when I can’t see the outcome?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear God,

Thank You for loving me, even when my faith feels weak or uncertain. There are times when I feel overwhelmed and unsure, wondering if my simple prayers even make a difference. But You remind me that it’s not about having it all together—it’s about trusting You with every tiny bit of faith I have.

Today, help me bring my worries, my hopes, and my dreams to You. Give me the courage to trust that You are at work, even when I can’t see it. Let my heart rest in the truth that You’re with me, and that every step of faith I take matters to You.

Thank You for loving me, even in my doubts. I'm so grateful You're always here.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

📖 Verse of the Day

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:9

Reflection:

When everything's falling apart, "God's ways are higher than your ways" can feel like the least comforting verse in the Bible. It can sound like divine dismissal of our pain.

But consider this: A child watching their parent work doesn't understand why they leave every morning. They only know the absence hurts. They can't grasp that the leaving enables the providing, that the temporary separation ensures permanent security.

We are those children. We see abandonment where God sees preparation. We see punishment where God sees protection. We see closed doors where God sees redirected destiny.

The distance between heaven and earth isn't just physical—it's the gap between seeing this moment and seeing all of eternity at once. Between making decisions based on comfort and making them based on glory. Between our definition of good and God's definition of perfect.

This isn't about God being mysterious. It's about God being so good that even His disruptions are kindnesses, His denials are gifts, and His delays are deliverances. One day, from His perspective, it will all make perfect sense.

Ask Yourself:

What areas of my life am I trying to control, instead of trusting in God's higher ways?

What am I demanding to understand that I might need to simply trust?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear God,

I know Your ways are perfect, but sometimes I just wish I understood them. When my plans don't match Yours, when Your timing feels painfully slow, when Your answers leave me confused—I struggle to remember that You see what I can't.

Your Word says Your thoughts are as high above mine as heaven is above earth. Help me trust that distance. Help me believe that the God who sees all of eternity knows exactly what I need today. Thank You that I'm safe in Your higher ways.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

📖 Verse of the Day

“Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.”

2 Kings 20:5

Reflection

Have you ever received news that felt like the end of your story? One moment Hezekiah was leading a nation, the next he was facing death, turning his face to the wall as tears became his only prayer. The prophet's words still hung in the air: 'Put your house in order.' Final. Devastating. Hopeless.

But between his tears and heaven's answer was only a courtyard's distance. Before Isaiah could even leave the palace grounds, God stopped him with words that would change everything: 'I have heard your prayer; I see your tears. I am with you.'

Don't miss the tenderness here. The God who commands armies of angels notices tears. The One who holds the universe together pauses for a broken heart. He doesn't just see—He responds. He doesn't just hear—He moves. No committee meetings in heaven, no lengthy deliberations. Just pure love answering pain.

Maybe you're facing your own impossible today. Let this truth sink deep: the same God who noticed Hezekiah's tears is noticing yours. Your tears aren't wasted. Your prayers aren't ignored. Between your pain and His comforting response might only be a courtyard's distance.

Ask Yourself

What burden can I pour out to God today, trusting that He hears and cares?

Is there a prayer I have given up on, that I need to bring before God again?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear Father,

Some days my heart is so heavy that words fail me, and tears are my only prayer. Thank You for catching every one of them. Thank You for meeting me in my brokenness, even when my prayers are messy and my emotions are raw.

Today, I bring You my deepest hurts, trusting that You not only hear my cries but hold my heart. Help me rest in the truth that You are already working, even when I can’t see it. Thank You for loving me always.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
