Lots of people ask “When was the Hingham Hall actually built?”

Well this newspaper article from March 4th, 1898 answers that question!

The gym of the hall was built in 1898 and used as a meeting space for the Hingham chapter of the Modern Woodmen of America, hence the “M W A” letters above the stage. In the 1930’s (approximately?) the basement was added underneath.

The HAA is working on compiling a historical display for the entry way and alcove areas at the hall. If you have any Hingham memorabilia-think photos, fastpitch jerseys or items from the Hingham Feed Mill, Hopeman’s or cheese factories, ect, please reach out! We’d love to preserve and display your items!

Summer isn’t over yet! Last week we put out the 🏐volleyball net🏐 after a generous neighbor refinished the posts!
The volleyball net and basketball/tennis/pickleball court is located behind the outfield and all are welcome!

We were gifted a glove used by Hingham Fastpitch great Bill Hopeman and a softball signed by “Accordion Karl” and “Tuba Eddie” to be used in our historical display at the Hingham Hall.

We are still looking for any Hingham memorabilia to display at the Hingham Hall! Fastpitch jerseys, photos, collectibles, ect. Please reach out if you have anything you’d like to donate!

We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who made last night’s alumni game possible! To the players, the concession volunteers, the guys who helped prep the field, Stephen on the accordion and everyone who came out to join us, we are so grateful for this community!

It was a great night and really felt like “the good old days” again!

To our friends in Oostburg and Gibbsville!! If you've been without power all day, stop down at the Hingham ballpark at 5:00pm for brats, hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad and baked beans!

Slowpitch game starts at 5:30pm, fastpitch at 7:00pm! Raffle tickets sold all night with prizes for each game!
