The Durants Neck Ruritan Club invites you to our annual Fried Chicken & BBQ Dinner Plate Fundraiser!

Every plate purchased helps fund the Durants Neck Ruritan Club’s community service projects, scholarships, youth programs, and local initiatives that make a difference right here in our community.

It is with sadness, Durants Neck Ruritan Club, announces the loss of Carl B. Jarman (sister, Joyce Gurganus and brother-in- law, Dan Gurganus) on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Although Carl was not a member of our local club, he was instrumental in helping raise money for our club through his workmanship in handcrafting a large charcuterie build and cheese slicer for a recent raffle. He also donated numerous pieces of art through woodworking to other clubs in Orangeburg, South Carolina, where he was living at the time of his death. Carl, a retired US Air Force veteran, believed in “paying it forward”, giving back, and putting others first. He, also, was a member of the Shriner’s Club in Orangeburg, South Carolina where he was recently honored by presenting him with his Medal of Honor jacket. For those lucky enough to have purchased one of his woodworking boards, you have one-of-a-kind and should be cherished.
