It is “DAF Day” today, a national awareness day encouraging donors with donor-advised funds (DAF’s) to make a distribution from the fund and put those dollars, designed for charitable-use, to work in their communities!

DAF dollars could be put to optimal use with Healdsburg Forever (HF). Just this year, we have granted $400,000 to 14 local nonprofits!!

As just one example of the impact of a contribution to HF, the local Healdsburg Food Pantry was able to purchase supplemental food with some of the HF grant funds, which was a dire need, considering so far this year, they have already had more than 29,000 individual pantry visits.

When a community’s needs cover multiple concerns and each one is important, HF ensures your donation is spread across many vetted organizations doing the hard work in all the areas of concern & reporting back with RESULTS. Your donation dollars land where they are needed most and can do the most good, as decided by the community itself.

In honor of their 10-year anniversary, Corazón Healdsburg shared the story behind their name. Turns out, we have Lisa Rhodes to thank:

"Lisa [a founding Corazón board member]...felt that the heart of the community, the people whose everyday work keeps Healdsburg running, deserved support, compassion and inclusion."

With Corazón Healdsburg being one of our community partners and Lisa Rhodes now serving on our Board of Directors, we thought we would share this beautiful example of the "connective tissue" that makes our town so special.

Thank you, Lisa, for helping make BIG things happen in our little town. And congratulations to Corazón for a decade of fantastic, life-changing work in Healdsburg!

Wishing you all a lovely World Gratitude Day 2026!

Yes, it may be another “silly calendar holiday,”but we love anything that promotes being thankful.

For curious minds, today marks a global annual observance dedicated to expressing appreciation, fostering international harmony & reflecting on the positive contributions of others. The observance was first proposed in 1965 by Sri Chinmoy, a spiritual leader and head of the United Nations meditation group. Who knew the UN had a meditation group?! 🙂

We are grateful for this community and the people & organizations dedicated to the wellbeing of ALL of its members!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Healdsburg Forever at Mombo’s yesterday!

Whether you grabbed a pizza to-go for the Niner’s game or stayed to eat with us at the restaurant, it was fun to see familiar faces and to know that as we were nourishing ourselves, we were contributing to the welfare and financial health of nonprofits in Healdsburg & Geyserville through Healdsburg Forever.

La Familia Sana is grateful for the support of Healdsburg Forever, whose tri-agency grant is helping strengthen immigration-related legal access, Family Preparedness support, and community outreach in Geyserville and Healdsburg.

Through this work, La Familia Sana’s outreach reached at least 30 individuals and families in Geyserville through schools, food distributions, door-to-door engagement, and other trusted community locations. In partnership with Legal Aid of Sonoma County, biweekly immigration-related legal services at the Geyserville School District connected 13 Geyserville community members with civil legal services.

This work is made possible through collaboration with Legal Aid of Sonoma County and Corazón Healdsburg, and with the support of Healdsburg Forever. We’re grateful for their investment in bringing trusted, bilingual services closer to families in our region.

La Familia Sana agradece el apoyo de Healdsburg Forever, cuyo financiamiento para esta colaboración entre tres organizaciones está ayudando a fortalecer el acceso a servicios legales relacionados con inmigración, la Preparación Familiar y el alcance comunitario en Geyserville y Healdsburg.

A través de este trabajo, el alcance comunitario de La Familia Sana llegó al menos a 30 personas y familias en Geyserville mediante escuelas, distribuciones de alimentos, visitas puerta a puerta y otros espacios comunitarios de confianza. En colaboración con Legal Aid of Sonoma County, los servicios legales relacionados con inmigración ofrecidos cada dos semanas en el Distrito Escolar de Geyserville conectaron a 13 miembros de la comunidad de Geyserville con servicios legales civiles.

Mombo’s is donating 25% of all purchases at their restaurant (dine-in or takeout) to Healdsburg Forever on Thursday, September 10th, 3pm-close.
