“Aggressive” is not what I wanted to hear today. That word keeps echoing through my mind as I snuggle Mamakitty, both of us decompressing from her vet appointment this morning. The lump on her mammary could possibly be a cyst 🙏🤞🤞 but if it is a mammary tumor, they can be quite aggressive.
Mamakitty’s doctor seemed very guarded during this conversation, understandably hesitant to jump to any assumptions, positive or negative. She did say that mammary aspirate biopsies are not accurate, so we scheduled Mamakitty for the soonest excision biopsy surgery available, and we will return to have the lump removed to send out for testing on November 5th.
To clear her for surgery, chest x-rays and bloodwork were also done today, bringing today’s bill alone to $480. 🫣The estimate for her surgery in two weeks is an additional $585. 🤯 These expenses are unexpected and all of this feels so overwhelming. Right now I’m so anxious about Mamakitty’s health and overall prognosis, I can barely begin to worry about the financial stress.
We depend on donations to keep Mamakitty and the other rescued animals here at SAGE happy and healthy, so I have to ask. Will you please share and donate to Mamakitty’s fundraiser if you can? Everything helps!
You can also boost engagement by tapping share, copylink, save, and leaving a long comment to help others get an opportunity to give a little, too 💝
Please help us make a dent in these unexpected expenses so Mamakitty can continue living her best life.
Thank you!
✨🙏✨

October is breast cancer awareness month, and though this is not the way I’d like to be reminded of it’s importance, it is a solemn reminder to be aware of mammary tumors in ourselves and our beloved companions.
