Want to make a real difference this election? Pick up the phone. 📞✊🏾

We need volunteers to call Black voters across Georgia ahead of the primary on May 19—connecting them with resources to check their registration, find their polling place, and know their rights.

The Callais decision was a blow to voting rights. Volunteering is how we fight back. No experience needed, just your voice and a few hours of your time.

It’s one thing to talk about our food pantry it’s another to hear why it matters ,straight from the community it serves.
No scripts, just real voices sharing what they really appreciate.

"It will break your heart to see the hunger in our community. And even when hunger is satisfied, it's not satisfied with healthy choices." — Julius Johnson, Founder of The Newberry Institute

That's exactly why today was so special at Rosa's Food Pantry in Hawkinsville, GA. Nurses from South Central Health District joined us for Health Day — offering free check-ups to our neighbors — while fresh, healthy food filled our recently restocked shelves.

Thank you to everyone who made this happen. Together, we're feeding bodies AND futures.

Shelves are full. Doors are open. Community is strong.
Rosa’s Second Harvest Food Pantry is ready to welcome families and provide support where it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make this possible. Every donation, every effort, every act of kindness goes a long way.
We’re serving with purpose.

We’re building something special right here at home.

The Newberry Institute is bringing a community garden to life as part of Rosa’s Second Harvest Food Pantry in Hawkinsville. And the best part, we’re doing it together.

This isn’t just about growing food.
It’s about neighbors showing up.
It’s about kids learning where food comes from.
It’s about creating a space where everyone belongs.

This garden will provide fresh fruits and vegetables for families, create opportunities to learn about sustainability, and offer a place to gather, share meals, and build community.

Right now, the work has started. The land is being prepared, the vision is taking shape, and every step brings us closer.

This will be community-built, community-owned, and community-loved.
If you’ve been looking for a way to make a real impact locally, this is it. Every contribution counts.
Let’s build it. Let’s grow it. Together.

Join us this evening as we begin our community garden! We’ll have sidewalk chalk as well for the kiddos!
