Thank You to our wonderful Party in the Park sponsors

It takes a village (such as Haverford) to put on Party in the Park, our annual fall community festival. We are grateful for our local businesses and service organizations, without whose support Party in the Park would not happen.

Pictures from Saturday’s Party in Sharpe Park

Saturday's Party in the Park turned out to be a tremendous success, despite the somewhat chilly and blustery weather. Here are some pictures from the event. Pumpkin painting stole the show. Lincoln Drive provided the soundtrack. Merion Fire Company of Ardmore on site. Local businesses donated terrific raffle gifts. How do you make a Bug Snug? What next? A GREAT YEAR TO TAKE A CHANCE ON A RAFFLE TICKET

Local businesses have been especially generous (really!) this year donating prizes for the Party in the Park raffle. So plan to bring yourself, your family and friends to Sharpe Park on Saturday, October 17, for this fall’s woodland jamboree. Buy a raffle ticket and you could take home a valuable gift of merchandise or a voucher for no-cost professional services.

Munch a free hotdog or soft pretzel while you stroll leaf-strewn paths among trees and shrubs arrayed in their fall finery. Listen to the live, classic rock and alt rock sounds of the band Lincoln Drive. Paint a pumpkin with your kids, who will probably also want to learn how to build a Bug Snug for overwintering insects. Have your fortune told by our mystic reader.

And of course, spend some time getting to know your local first responders from Merion Fire Company of Ardmore, Lower Merion Police and Narberth Ambulance. You might even get up close and personal with a firetruck. And with any luck, you might just bump into a Lower Merion Township commissioner.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with raffle winners announced at 1:30. Sharpe Park is located at the corner of Montgomery Avenue and Haverford Station Road. Party in the Park is made possible by Haverford Civic Association and the Haverford business community (a complete list of commercial sponsors will be displayed at the park). Support your local merchants and service providers.
