Big thanks to Pine Belt Humanists for helping us restock our toiletry shelf with leftover items from their awesome school hygiene kit project!!

That said, since we’ve been under the weather this week we are behind and could use some help restocking the community fridge and food pantry. We also had a request for adult diapers in size large or extra large. We were able to fill the request but now we are completely out and could use a few more packs any size but especially L or XL.

We are super excited to have our Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) up and running! Big thanks to Mississippi People's Movement (MPM) for loaning it to us as well as providing the grant for our community fridge.

The AWG takes moisture from the air, filters it, and turns it into clean drinking water. We emptied it this afternoon after it ran all weekend and ended up with 6.5 gallons.

So, instead of sending your old water bottles and cups to the thrift store to sit on the shelf, or sending your water jugs to the landfill, please bring them to us so that people have a way to take water with them. This will save both money and plastic since we no longer have to buy bottled water.

The entire community is welcome to the water generated by the AWG for as long as it lasts, so bring your old water bottles and an extra jug for your own water.

Water containers can be dropped off at 1003 W. Pine Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 2-4 or by texting 601-909-5746 for a pickup/drop off time.

Mutual Aid Requests:

- Food (all kinds but especially snacks, invidually wrapped items, and easy open canned goods)

- Backpacks (New or gently used)

- Hats (preferably wide brimmed hats to keep the sun off) (new or gently used)

- Water bottles (new or used)

We’ve had a lot of hungry folks coming through lately and we’re running low on many things, especially fridge items.

Here are some suggestions:

- Sandwiches
- Water
- Powerade
- Fruit
- Jello cups
- Fruit cups
- Yogurt
- Individually wrapped cheeses
- Individually wrapped popsicles/ice cream

Please write ingredients and the date on any items that aren’t prepackaged (like sandwiches).

If you don’t have time to make sandwiches, just send the ingredients and we can make them.
