Friday of our Fond Farewell Weekend was for Staff Alumni and their families.

The goal was simple: reunite our beloved staff alumni, give them a chance to share this sacred ground with their family and show them the places where they learned to play guitar, got into a little mischief, met their best friends, and became part of the Waypost story.

There was no big agenda. No program to follow. Because the memories, connections, and stories were all we needed. Generations of Waypost people gathered together, and the spirit of this place was unmistakably alive.

I plan to share more stories and photos from this weekend in the days and weeks to come. First, I want to say thank you to the planning committee to helped make it all possible.

Thank you Ben Natzke for chairing the committing, running our meetings and check lists and to-do lists and for being a gracious host this weekend.
Thank you to Pastor Rich Block for planning the Holy Closure Service.
Thank you Pastor Matt Seegert for polling people to select a date, and for all the music you shared with us all weekend long. That alone was healing!
Thank you Ann Hawley for preparing and hosting Arts & Crafts, providing outline ideas, and for printing the bulletins for the service, a perfect weekend keepsake.
Thank you Miriam Nelson for help gathering historical records and support.

Thank you also to Russ Martindale for all your site preparations and Jane Reillysmith for meal service this weekend!

Today, we enjoyed breakfast, then had a final worship together in the chapel sharing stories and songs. Then worship concluded with a procession through camp with prayers to stop and remember and ended at the waterfront that holds so many of our memories. May the prayers of our hearts travel with these bubbles.

We’ve been keeping a sweet surprise, but the cooler is packed which makes it official! Yum!

The ice creams are all packed up and ready to go to camp! 🏕️

This weekend is an extra special catering event for us. We’re headed to Crossways Camps as they gather to say goodbye to Waypost, a place that holds a lot of memories for me from my years working at camp.

We’ll be bringing along one of our Party Cooler catering packages, packed with individually portioned scoops and sorbet push pops so guests can grab a treat and enjoy the celebration.

From company picnics and weddings to family gatherings, reunions, and everything in between, our Party Coolers are an easy way to bring Kindred Scoops to your event, no cart or scooping required!

And this time, getting to bring Kindred Scoops back to a place that was once such a big part of my life makes it especially sweet. 🍦

This summer, our campers have been living out an invitation from Colossians 3:14: "Above all, wear love."

Every day they've been discovering what it looks like to wear kindness, humility, calmness, steadfastness, and forgiveness.

And here's what we've realized.

Before some campers can wear love at camp, someone else has already worn it for them. A Scholarship Partner.

A generous gift becomes a place at the campfire. A bunk in a cabin. A week where a camper hears, again and again, "You are loved by God."

We see the campers who almost didn't come because money was tight. We see siblings making camp memories together. We see kids discover they belong.

Every one of those stories begins the same way: Someone chose to wear God's love.

Right now, we're looking for 35 Scholarship Partners to help more campers experience that same gift.

Join us a Waypost Work Day!

We'll gather at 8:00 a.m. and work together throughout the day, accomplishing as much as we can.

Our primary focus will be clearing the remaining downed tree branches around camp and near the house, along with leaf raking and debris removal. For those who would prefer indoor projects, we'll also have opportunities to help clean cabins through vacuuming and other light housekeeping tasks.

Please bring:
- Work gloves
- Plenty of energy
- A leaf blower or w**d trimmer (if you have one and are willing to bring it)

Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
