🏫 It’s looking SO good!

The transformation of the historic Hastings High School continues, and it’s exciting to see this beloved building coming back to life! Landscaping is going in, the front parking lot is paved and striped, and the entire property is really starting to come together.

And what’s happening inside may be even more exciting. ❤️

The historic campus is becoming a new First Coast Technical College campus in Hastings, creating the potential for expanded education, career training and workforce opportunities right here in our community. FCTC offers career and technical education designed to prepare students for in-demand careers, along with adult education and workforce support programs.

One of the first exciting additions is the Early Childhood Center Hastings, opening in January! The center will bring high-quality early learning opportunities closer to home for Hastings families, with experienced St. Johns County School District educators, a comprehensive curriculum and a focus on preparing children for kindergarten and lifelong learning.

For information about the Early Childhood Center and enrollment, contact:

There is something especially meaningful about seeing a building that educated generations of Hastings residents being restored to serve another generation of students, families and our local workforce.

We’re excited to watch the next chapter of the old Hastings High School unfold — and to see the new opportunities it brings to Hastings! ❤️

🧱 Okay… THIS Is (Probably) Your Final Chance to Leave Your Mark!

Sometimes even the best-laid plans run into a few permitting challenges! While those delays have pushed back installation of the Heritage Bricks at Cochran Pocket Park, there is a silver lining: we can keep brick sales open a little longer.

So, if you’ve been meaning to order yours, now is the time. We promise this is (probably 😉) the final chance to purchase a Heritage Brick and become a permanent part of Hastings history.

🌿 Heritage Bricks are $75 each and will create the accessible entryway connecting Cochran Pocket Park to Cochran Avenue. Each personalized brick will help tell the story of the people, families, businesses and organizations that make Hastings special.

And the bricks are just one part of what’s ahead. Plans for the park also include vegetable gardens, benches and shade structures through our partnership with St. Johns Botanical Gardens & Nature Preserve and UF/IFAS Master Gardeners.

🧱 Leave your name. Honor someone special. Celebrate your family or business. Become part of the legacy.

Order your Heritage Brick here 👉 https://www.hastingsfl.org/heritage-bricks/

And yes… this really could be your last chance! 😉
